Should GD be Part of Campus Placements????

Its better to have GD during campus interview as sometimes due to lack of time, not all candidates can go through PI.
 
In today's world, communication is everything, if the candidates do not have a proper communication skills, it would be difficult to communicate with others, and get things done or to do the work also. As they need to interact with their superiors or sub ordinates or even with their clients. Hence, GD plays an important role in assessing the communication skills of the candidates, so it has to be a part of selection process.
 
I believe this should be left on the interviewer part whether they want it / not? Because they come to hire in campus with certain purpose..so primarily it should be their choice rather than the applicants/campus choice..
 
GDs is good because by performing it any one can judge who has strong
communication skills, good fluency over language.
 
its not just GD is for the assessment of knowledge but its just conducted to analyse how bold and straight are the candidates, as a management students its mandatory for us to tackle the situation at any point trouble and show ourselves spl..

absolutely. Its the first step to test the students. In the corporate world, a student would be faced with difficult situations where he would be addressing his peers, seniors and juniors and he should be able to answer questions.
 
Considering the examples of all the leading industrialist No, GD shud'nt be part of campus placements coz itz not entirely the communication skills but also the knowledge which can make a proficient manager.
