Should GD be Part of Campus Placements????

Yes ofcourse

I strongly believe that GDs should be a part of the Campus Placements.

If you see urself in one of the best corporates u should not be scared of GDs

Coz today any profile take it HR Finance, mrktg is not confined to just a cabin, u have to be smart, extrovert n expressive to beat the cut throat competition

Well GD is a fast way of screening the candidates. Its on discretion of companies. So whenever there are high number of candidates appearing in the selection process. More chances of GD. :)
 
Yes they should. They show how people compete with each other and this is not what u can see in an interview, simple as that !
 
Its thye only logical screening process.. though even an aptitude test could be a better alternative avoiding a fish market as most GD's turn out to be.

Yes.., GD is important., It's an effective screening tool in case of large no. of applicants. Discloses the students general knowledge
 
There should not be any issue in GD...I mean if company is asking for GD, then what is the problem...you will have to discuss many issues in groups during the job..then why worry about it now...
 
s there is a need for people to understand views on the issues which will be dealt in different manner by each so it is essential to see the way it is executed and presented in the discussion
 
i agree dat it is vry essential 2 have gd's...bt wot if there cmes a language barrier b/w them..nd wot if in a grup of 10..3 doesnot even noe a word of english or the commn language of that state or country..i wud say gd's are necessary bt it shud not be the only way of final judgement..means the judges shud also focus on the knowledge that they have..bt unable to express..
 
No I dont think it is really necessary.
A person might be an introvert but have a lot of potential and talent. In such case a GD is not a right choice.
 
I think more than Gd, PI is most important to show the personality skill, as it gives more information which we can display regarding personal as well as other information regarding mba specialisation.
 
Ideally a GD helps in assessing the individuals personality within a group.. more like a role playing simulation. The panel does not poke its nose but simply observes every individual.

The PI helps in facilitating direct interaction with the aspirant and reinforces the belief of the interviewer.

Depending on the position being offered, the interviewers may or may not want to include a GD.
 
yes, GDs are essential. It brings out the knowledge of the candidate and also the presentation (verbal ability) of the candidate
 
in my opinion yes.. Campus is something that we go for learning and in today's world communication skill is surely required even who is strong technically. What's the use if you can't explain your technical problems to your team or superiors if you dont have good communication skills.
