Management needs hard work or smart work ???

well in my opinion, for a manager its really important to work smartly rather than to work hard.

if this could help there were 2 workers and both were assigned to cut wood. Worker A was consistently cutting wood, every second, every minute, while Worker B was also cutting wood but was taking breaks, so of course, not attending to his woodpile. Surprisingly, as the day went by, Worker B was actually accumulating quite an interesting pile of cut wood, much bigger than Worker A's pile.

Management is all about smart work, you can do difficult tasks without much problem if you use your brains in right direction and in a proper manner, but some times one needs to show off his or her hard work because some people judge by looking at extent of efforts and not by the final outcome.
 
According to me, what a manager needs is the work is getting done.Hard work or smart work depends on the skill level of the individual. Freshers joining should always have to work hard in the intial phases when compared with the senior ppl.Finally what is needed is the quality of the output.

of course,management is all about smart work,but you cant say dat der is no hardwork involves...
its like 60% smart work and 40% hard work...

Management is to Manage everything in your work and life....

It depends on the type of work one needs to do according to the situation...Mostly the Smart work gives more fruitful results nowadays
 
in my point of view a manager should be able to do both smart work and hard work.
both quality is requires in ordet to acheive a goal. both quality place a good role at their type of work according to state of work. in some circustance if a manager has only smatness and where he needs hard work then how can he acheive their goal.
and also if a manager has quality of hardwork then he can easily motivate to employees towards hard work . and as you know if any organisation doesnot have sucah both quality it is very difficult to survive their.
altogether we can say that a manager should have quality of hardwork as well as smart work.
 
A little bit of both..It majorly depends on the position you are in and also the kind of work one is assigned..
 
See basically a Manager must work hard for himself. More for a self gratification.
But when it comes to facing the outside and to make a name for himself he must do more of smart work than anything else.

To gain acceptance among a crowd more than just hard work would also help.
 
Hard work is nothing, but working lyk an ass..

It will not only spoil ur life, but ur colleagues too...

If u are doing things in a smart way, in 90% of the occassions, no need of toiling ..........
 
well i think that whatever the Work is whether from a Managerial point of view or not... it has to be done by both the ways HARD as well as a SMART ......
 
hiii...every1...according to me...Management is an art of getting things done through others...So its more SMART work than HARD work
 
ya it is, job may differ as a person in an organization or company may deal up with different types of work so as to be flexible in nature you need to be smart enough as hard work wouldn't work where you need to be smart. Its actually the way the person would like to go for.

I am completely agree with you. Quality of work is needed and output should be the best. Whether it is a hard work or smart work manager needs to inspire and motivate the juniors which can help them to sharp their skills.
