well in my opinion, for a manager its really important to work smartly rather than to work hard.
if this could help there were 2 workers and both were assigned to cut wood. Worker A was consistently cutting wood, every second, every minute, while Worker B was also cutting wood but was taking breaks, so of course, not attending to his woodpile. Surprisingly, as the day went by, Worker B was actually accumulating quite an interesting pile of cut wood, much bigger than Worker A's pile.
Management is all about smart work, you can do difficult tasks without much problem if you use your brains in right direction and in a proper manner, but some times one needs to show off his or her hard work because some people judge by looking at extent of efforts and not by the final outcome.
