There are two aspects to consider here:
1. Are older people more mature than younger ones?
Ans - There is a high probability that this is true. Maturity and experience do go together. Experience largely grows with time or, in other words, through an accumulation of experiences. This process is mostly time bound, unless a person has experienced some very intense exeperiences in a short period of time. Such experiences are usually negative and can result in despodency more than maturity.

2. All all older persons more mature than younger persons?
Ans - Most certainly not. e.g. politicians!

Maturity may not be measurable. But I feel Maturity comes with Life experience.

Life experience directly relates to the age.

So the Maturity relates to age.

No it isnt maturity refers to certain state of mind, like where in you act responsible. It more over depends upon a persons self understanding about himself, experience and the most iomportant desire to be mature

Its not the age that is directly proportional to maturity. What counts is the experience. More experience you get, you become more matured..

I dont think maturity is directly proportional to age.
Infact the Problems we face in our life and what we learn from the problems makes us mature.
So more early the problems we face in life we become mature early for sure

Definitely, Maturity does come with age but it is not directly proportional to it. As stated by most of them it does have to do the environment in which we grow in, so is the reason for younger generation maturing faster than us. Exposure for a 10 year old at this point of time is more than what it was 10 years back. And maturity comes with hands on experience as well as from our parents. We might question them when they ask us to do something for our own good but once they explain it to us we will end up accepting it. Maturity can be measured, not quantitatively but it sure can be measured qualitatively. The problem is people confuse maturity with seriousness. Mature people are serious when it matters but they need not be serious when it is a lighter moment. so even a mature person can be fun loving and it is not a sin.

NO i think maturity does not depend on age but with the people we move in, community, society, family and education.

i dont think so see mr Amitabh Bachhan and compare it with the same person of the same age around you both are of same age but level of maturity is high in first case as compared to second:SugarwareZ-286:

amazing topic dude...............it is directly proportional to age.........................because maturity ll cme wid age nly...........

It depends what you mean by "maturity". Certainly age provides one with more direct life experience and exposes one to more diverse points of view; these factors alone contribute to our ability to make more balanced judgements and better decisions.
However what you describe seems to refer to personality, and that does not alter as much with age. People who are introverted and serious or shy can exhibit these traits even as youngsters, while those who are outgoing, spontaneous and joyful as youngsters often continue to be so well into their lives.

Maturity is not proportional to age of a person. Rather maturity is a result of the level IQ and EQ of a person.

i dnt think its related in anyways...maturity comes with experience...while age increses evry year on our bday...

I agree with user that maturity comes with experience.People can get huge experience in short time or the same experience in large life span
