Yahoo Messenger GD Proceedings...

Conducted the GD on 'Homosexuality'

p.s. Kartick... please take care of the following while giving feedback...
1) tell us all the points which were skipped in the discussion and should have been mentioned by us.

2) How the individual participants fared.... where they went haywired..... what points were good.... what were not.... and who all would clear this session had it been ab actual GD

Very dissapointing GD .

I would say, a couple of junior college friends over a casual discussion in the college canteen would do better than this gd .

Too repetitive. Only thing people kept saying was they are humans, live and let live and the only one who was against homosexualilty, could not formulate and express his thoughts properly.

None of the members would clear if this was a actual GD.

Many points that were missed : Effects on society if homosexuality was legalised, its effect on children , inclination of society to western culture, sexual harrassment cases in corporate world, open invitation to acceptance of sexual nature like prostitution.

Still waiting for the last GD(held on 2nd April) to be posted.....

Should be an interesting read; especially the analysis by Kartik :aj1: :aj:

The text seems edited.....I believe a few comments made by a certain Gaurav are missing.....

:aj:

Born free... taxed to death.. such a nice topic burnt to ashes due to lack of participation in the GD...

Now as Anupam said.. it is an interesting read ... if you wish to enjoy one get churned by Anupams witty comments..

As for the opening of the gd akila got it going when she gave a totally new direction to the gd by giving a abstract touch to the meaning of taxes.

If was a pity that she couldnt back those comments with examples or strong statements to justify her vision.

I am certain that akila has potential but she needs practice and should work on putting her views clearly with correct usage of grammar and sentence phrasing.

For those who read the GD, know that Anupam absolutely rocked .

Having said that, certain topics or aspects that could be covered in the GD and were missed are the need of Taxes, the latest VAT issue, service tax, taxation structure in India, taxation structure in other countries like dubai.

FYI : India is the only country which spends less than 1 % for collection of taxes ( Budget speech of our F.M 2006 )

Thanks for the prompt, meaningful analysis and your kind comments, Kartik.

However, I do tend to somewhat disagree with a couple of points you feel should've been covered in the GD.

Discussing the VAT issue or the service tax would've led to the GD going haywire. In such a case, we might've touched upon that issue if the GD had someone giving it direction (or playing the leader). I unfortunately joined too late to assume that role....and was a fairly mediocre discussion going on at that moment of time.

Hope there are more people participating next time around....I request Gaurav to be fairly clear about the timings of the GD, and ANNOUNCE IT BEFOREHAND....

Thanks again, Kartik.......hopefully you'll take part too when we next meet :aj:

Well after going through the GD again, I have reason to believe that "akila" is Iyer Subramoney, which leads me to think that he might not be a "she" afterall!! :aj1: :aj:

Hi A.J.
The text was put up as it was. No editing has been done whatsoever.

I try my best to keep it as frequently as possible, but due to personal errands, it becomes quite difficult. Anyway, i thought of taking it last night, but there were only 3 people in the list. Hence there is no point, as such.

I will come up with a scheme where there will be a few better-informed people like u or others, to give a better push to the GD. Will get in touch with u shortly.

Regards
Gaurav

Yup......no problem.
I think you're doing a fantastic job; just that we could do with a bit more participation I believe.

Now this is what I call a GD ..

It wouldve been real fun if these two guys, gaurav and anupam had contrasting views .

Anupam and Gaurav both have raised good points.

[FONT=&quot]bhakti sadarangani needs to support her statements .

Vyankatesh rathi has to practice and read more on current affairs.

Although I have completely contrasting views and support Quota system ( Read : http://www.managementparadise.com/forums/t817-is-the-quota-system-for-higher-studies-justified.html )

Overall Informative Gd.
