Telephone Number portability - Your Take

Not Satisfied with Airtel , which would be the best Operator for Honest billing and Customer service?

While we are talking about honest billing and customer service... It means you are using post paid connection...

And you know one thing, either you have Airtel, Reliance, TATA you have to check billing personally...

Signal Wise Reliance rocks as per my senior says... If you are heavy net user than dolphin is cool (3G).

MNP will for sure will be helpful in getting rid of the monopoly of certain providers whom we are stuck with because we have a particular favorite number that we don't wanna let go of.
Its definitely going to be useful, but still to be seen. How its going to be implemented. Than we will come to about the pros and cons of it.

mnp is a long awaited right citizens but i think there will be roadblocks.... your old cell hpone company will not let u migrate bu putting up some bill issues...

From Year 2010 number portability will be available to all of us........Please suggest to which player you would chose over your present operator and also 10 new players are ready to jump into the market. What would be the picture of Indian Telecom market after 6 months......................

I really don't see a big change initially as we have a very price sensitive consumer market, it costs some Rs. 19 to the consumer & in India where large no. of people having pre-paid connections, depend on recharge. The consumers dont go for a recharge untill & Unless they really find it difficult to carry on with the low balance. Hence when they would know that they will be charged Rs. 19, they would keep on postponing their plan for MNP and it may not go well for the operators who are thinking thay they will be able to add new customers to their database by MNP.

Its great that a customer can get this flexibility to change the service provider without changing the number. The Customer will be now free of worries and will get the quality :SugarwareZ-283:

i assume that ther will be a lot of people will change the carriers when they want to move to 3g. Many carriers don't have 3g licenses in allplaces. for example airtel in not offering 3g in kerala as they do not have license. so some airtel customers will move to BSNL. this is the case with all towns
