TATA's People's car.....boon or bane???

so here we are finally Mr. Tata has got his cards right....all the world held the breath as they saw this guy descended outa his innovation which was considered preposterous (a car in 2500$).....

but the real question is ..... is it really dat good.... technically and the rosy side is....common man can drive finally in 4 wheels, dream fullfilled, the millage is good(as claimed 24kmpl), much better than usual cars..size is much small, one small thing...speed is jus 108km/hr.... but then its like a moon with a lil spot....

one the other side...i read all kinds of articles where they criticized this kinda innovation (felt more like a move by the competitors) where such an possesion could lead india's need and dependence on oil to much more than what its now....i don't remeber the xact number but neraly 35% increase in oil use, then the cycle of global warming....and costs india has to bear to get all the oil and the industries that face the crunch who use it for power.....

i want to know ur views xpert as well as personal whether this would affect any industry anyhow.... i totally understand and respect the concept of global warming...but not the ones who talk abt it....as they are the ones who on one hand dream of a hummer, bmw, porsche, jaguar, buggatti, and also not let a concept of hydrogen feul come ahead....

plz feel free to add in your thoughts, i'd appreciate ur effort.....

BOON for middle class people....

definitely well done by the tata's. the tata's done what they told. but the success will be on sustaining the market. there is a word that ," to enter the market is easy. but to sustain the market is difficult." the tata's project will succeed only if they sustain in the market by offering reliability, good service and other means.

the cars carries the man of not, if we are in the same poor infrastucture , we have to carry the car and move on the road...

The basic reason why India is still facing problems wen it comes to becoming a completely developed nation is this that we believe in jumping the gun...we want to leap ahead when it comes to keeping up wid latest technological advancements..what we dont realize is that, in this rat race it is very important to have a strong foundation at the grass root level..only then will these kinds of technological advancements like Tata's nano be beneficial for us Indians in the true sense..We need to solve all problems at hand first, like poor infrastructure.traffic congestion, rising dependence on oil before we think about stuff like Nano.
It is very right to think that all the other cars that are already being used also contibute to all these problems but what we must realize is this that it's easier to nip something at the bud(Tata's Nano) rather than trying to eradicate something that is already deeply embedded in the system(Cars already in use)

Friend this is an interesting topic to discuss...
well what i think is Tata have given a direction to other companies to think upon...
would they also come in this race?
since today every company want to earn profit by capturing new customers... what would they be doing... more and more competition more profit to customer...
this is all what i think about nano the new car by Tata...

hey i thank to tata to make us pioneer in making cheapest car in the world....
with this i am also thinking to buy that with the first salary
hihiihiihihhi

hi friends,
well Tata's car is one lakh car so its wrong in comparing it with the other costlier cars..
as the main target market is the two wheelers public.
maruti is also comin wd its low priced car soon

no doubt HATS OFF 2 RATAN TATA.....for manufg a mini car..@ LOWEST PRICE GLOBALY
bt i feel its nt for ny mega cities(specially MUMBAI N DELHI)...bcoz of increasin traffic ....der is hardly space for 2 wheelers.....
it wil b boon for rural areas...
bt i hav 2 concern regardin....dis car...
wat abt maintenance...bcoz dis is wer most of 4 wheelers..differ with respect 2 two wheelers....

i guess dat wil b out of pictr...

Hi Friends !

For one thing we should be proud that we indians proved the world that we could innovate something which the world will look up on that too with such an impact... This car not only targeted here in India but also in the global market..So definetily it is a win situation for TATA's.

Regards
Uday

hats off to Tata for making a common man dream come true ...but as now buying a car has become affordable just think the number of vehicles on the road people who earlier used bikes and those who could afford high price bikes would now buy cars which would lead to more tariff jams, more demand for oil and more pollution, our problem today is not the standard of living but its the pollution and the environment hazards that is cauisng life of people.

Well whether this momentous innovation from our country shall be a boon or bane...i think its for Time to decide..... not focussing only on the negative side and ignoring the detractors of Nano for once....we all know that this car is Euro IV Compliant...not many cars that we have on our road..boast of holding this level of compliance.

For once the mid income segment gets to transition to the next level of their aspiration without having to take a hefty loan or waiting for a long time for that to happen....so now the mid income segment is just going to join in the bandwagon of clogging roads with cars which the rich people are party too from eons.....just because a lower segment now happens to spoil the rich man's party...the elitists are crying foul.
Well how about beginning with better public transport, making people pay more road taxes (currently its miniscule) so that they think twice before buying a car, levying parking charges. I am sure we can think of more ways to curb the purchasing habits of not just the common man but all and sundry so that the charges are justifiable for one and all. Why just penalise the common man by denying him his/her dream?

I personally laud Mr Ratan Tata's endeavour.......this i am sure shall motivate many entrepreneuring minds to try out something radical...and i look forward to see many such innovations in the coming few years from our country. Just a thought - maybe one of the innovations maybe to make non-polluting flying cars so that these cars solve not only the pollutin problem but also the congestion problem :) Is anyone game?

The need of oil will go up drastically and so will the price.

This govt seems to be axing its own legs yet again. :SugarwareZ-038:

It's really something to be proud of...it's a look at the common man...which can noe look beyong motor bikes and atleast try to afford a car for himself...good job by the TATA's

There is rumour / news of RENAULT YENI priced at Rs 1,30,000 to be launched by Mahindra and Mahindra ;)

Check out the attachment ... looks like a fox :tea:

hey, this is one of the biggest break thru in field of automobile we all appreciate that but we must understand that the no. of vehicles on road will substantially increase will put heavy pressure on our country's infrastructure & environment. However, one thing for sure that this is sumthing that India has given to the whole world
Cheers !!
