It has not been good start for Pakistan cricket team and lots of criticism for Misbah awaits him. Losing world cup to Australia and then white wash from Bangladesh is just like icing on cake for them. But, they have crushed Sri Lanka cricket team in test series 2-1. Pakistan focus on their five-match One- Day Internationals against Sri Lanka and first match is set to take place in Dambulla today.

“This is obviously a very important series for us and we will make sure we play well and win,” said Azhar Ali, Pakistan’s ODI captain, on the eve of the match. “Most of the players know what to expect in Sri Lanka. We are ready.”

Pakistan has won the test match against Sri Lanka but it won’t be easy for them to defeat Sri Lanka in ODIs, especially in the absence of Misbah, Younus and Masood. Pakistan has called up Mohammad Irfan, who was suffering from hip injury during World cup, but their main and centre stage lead bowler Wahab Riaz and Haris Sohail won’t be able to make it because of injury. The squad also includes two new batsmen in Mukhtar Ahmed, 22, and Bilal Asif, 29.

Sri Lanka is struggling with their defeat in test match. They will be playing their first ODI series after the retirement of Mahela Jayewardena and Sangakkara. Their main reason for defeat in test match was bungling perception of all rounder’s (even all the players were struggling to raise bar) which forces them to include two new all rounder’s, Milinda Siriwardana, 29, and Sachith Pathirana, 26. After their defeat in test, they won’t be give easy win to Pakistan. Match between this two Asian countries have lot more to reveal.
