Sourav Ganguly's decision to quit cricket is right???

Before the Australia-India series, Saurav Ganguly had said in the press conference that he will quit the cricket after this series. He was hurt at being dropped from the Irani Trophy squad. But many cricket legends and experts thinks his departure is perfectly timed, like the game itself.

But after showing good performances in last 4 innings (last 2 tests against australia), wht do you think, is it right decision taken by Saurav Ganguly??? Dada has more cricket left in him???
Sourav Ganguly's decision to quit cricket was right becuase he has given so much to the country and the country was not appreciating that. the selectors were everytime dropping him from one day . And after a good show in his recent prvious games, he was dropped from iranian tropy hence his decision to quit was best.

now is the the brand ambassador of Calcutta and also he is doing commentory now.

Als He is a good human being also.

Ganguly rocks as he was the first to give tit for tat to other teams

His decision was right...

I think if he would have delayed this further, that would have created a dent on his stature. Now everyone would atleast remember him for everything he has given to the the Indian cricket. And yes also for his slightly infamous farewell...

I want to tell u the story of a 10 year old boy.. A boy who was considered to be dumb, very quiet, reserved. People never missed a chance to make fun of that guy.. Whenever he tried to do something there were always many guys around to pull his legs.. No one understood him.. A boy who seriously had no self-confidence.. Teachers had already told his parents that ur son wont be able to do anything in life..

He used to sit quietly without saying a word and used to wonder that he is a big loser in life.. Nobody had any sympathy for him.. Perhaps he was too young to do anything abt it. In year 1996, it was time when had just completed his 5th standard examination and had summer vacations, he was watching a cricket match by chance..although he had no interest in cricket wat so ever then. The 1st test was over and 1 of the middle order batsman had to go back home for some personal reasons.. Indian think-tank had to play someone else in the playing 11 and that some1 was none other that Sourav Ganguly.

That boy observed that there was lots and lots of speculation abt his place.. Few of the team members said that he made it to the side becoz of regional quota.. Few of them said bengalis r soft enough to play cricket.. Some of them said that he just cant score runs in the leg side.. and some said he doesnt have an attitude to play for India as he refused to carry drinks on the field in 1992...

I would say not only Ganguly and Kumble it is time for even Dravid to make way for the younger crop. Though I would like to state that Dada was more hurt by non inclusion in the one day squad which happened after his long personal innings in his last series at the top of the order, still he could have played in tests for another year. But all said and one, when the whole world is ready with an axe against your neck, it was better for him to do it now! Lets see when's the turn for Laxman, Sachin and Dravid!

yes his decision came right at time
at this stage india needs a team that can play till the next world cup and
if the seniors who are abt to retire at the time when world cup will be on the doorstep it would be very difficult for the indian team to cope with the other teams who will have much experienced players out there.
second reason might be his age and health that wont allow him to play much more

yeah i think its a right decision because there are many young players who are very talented and Dada has already proved himself..so there has to be a chance for everyone..

guys i think the timing of saurav da's retirement is perfect and was done in typical ganguly fashion. he shut his critics with his performance and left the image of a succesful man that helped change the face of Indian cricket.

this decison is absolutely right. every day has a night. ganguly's day is now over and the night has begun. it is good that he has understood it.

as far as I think this is right decision taken by ganguly on right time.

now its the time to give the chance to young guns...

thnx

dashy

considering how different the ending could have been...............the retirement decision could not have come at a better time

The Bengal tiger stills can prowl and attack when required, its hurt now, but when the time is right he can prove that he truly is the Prince of Kolkata...
Give him a chance and he shall show the nation...
And remember, everyday is not Sunday...
