Hi All,
I am working on a small project on "How India can use its Forex Reserves ($279 Billion) effectively". If you have any ideas please help. I have gathered few ideas like
As a start, 10-15% of reserves can be invested in India for various purposes: infrastructure, agricultural loans, educational loans, and so on. Lawmakers and regulators should understand that deploying just $25-30 billion will in no way increase our external vulnerabilities and a sudden outflow of capital would still be manageable.
India should find new ways to use these funds more efficiently, get a higher return and support domestic development
The foreign exchange reserves can be used to acquire new technologies. This would scale up the productivity of the industry
Forex reserves can be spent on foreign trade and overseas investment
Any more thoughts on this, will surely help
Thanks,
Siva
