i think if the govt. spends money in improvising the quality of education in the already exiting colleges, then it would hv sufficient number of seats and would have to spend way lesser than what it would hve to shell out now. But, i guess, in this vote bank politics, its only the word "reservation" that counts... rest all is noise.

it says those people r in need of funds....i think v people who r working or could'nt join them physically i think v shud support them in any way v could.One suggested solution could be designing a band sort of thing which v all can wear who r against this insane idea.and it might help those people to raise some funds too.

the quaota system in our education system is not justified.students getting good marks are not getting admissions in better colleges whereas students who have a quota get admissions even aftwer scoring very less marks.what i feeel is that instead of having quota systems, we should have admissions reserved for students belonging to an economically backward family which can be found out seeing their IT returns.this will help in uplifting the poor and raising the standards of living overall.do u think this is feasible?

I'm agree with u , vijith.
Actually, this quota system had came into existence especially for economically-backward students who don't hav much money to study, but they hav the dreams to study.
But, nowdays, the rich people who comes under the category of obc, alo want to take undue advantage of this quota system.
The quota system should be only for economically-backward students.

Let's tell u frnds, my story.
I'm also eligible to get advantage of quota - obc.
i had my caste certificate also, but but but..............
I don't like these things which gives admission easily to a reserved student even if someone gets less marks than a talented student with high marks.
Even if i comes under the category of obc, i don't like to get an admission on the basis of quota & not on the talent & studies.

Imagine, If my best frend who comes under the open category has higher marks & i hav quite lower marks than him,say difference is 50 marks, then also i will get admission easily in top colleges/institutes. He won't be lucky to get admission in top college even if he has much talent than me, then i will be ery sorry for him, i can't make my mba/any higher degree easily as i hav not enough talent.

So, my point is govt. should keep quota system only & only for economically backward who can't study only b'coz of money even if they hav great dreams. !!!

Why 27 percent OBC Quota? Asks Supreme Court

The Supreme Court on Monday asked the government to justify the criteria it uses for identifying particular categories as OBCs, as well as the quantum of 27% it has reserved for them in Central services and now proposes to introduce in the Centrally-funded educational institutions.

"What is the basis for the determination as to who belongs to an OBC?" was the first of the crucial questions addressed to additional solicitor-general Gopal Subramaniam by a vacation bench comprising Justices Arijit Pasayat and LS Panta.

This was followed by a sharp query about the basis for the Centre to grant 27% reservations for OBCs in government services and, from 2007, in centrally-funded educational institutions.

"What is the material/statistical data that laid the foundation of the policy" and "the modalities the government intended to adopt for implementation of the policy" asked the court while asking the students to call off their agitation.

The searing posers can complicate matters for the already quota-troubled government; encourage the protesters; result in a push for a fresh caste-based census the first since 1931; and may even set the stage for a showdown with the political class for which questioning the caste-based quotas has been a taboo.

The court, which was hearing a PIL filed by advocate Ashoka Kumar Thakur, seemed to appreciate the plea of the petitioner that the implementation of the quota would divide the country on caste lines.

"This has serious social and political ramifications. If necessary, this aspect will be dealt with appropriately," said the court.

Its query about the basis for the government to grant 27% reservations for OBCs in jobs and educational institutions may appear significant in view of the doubts about the legitimacy of the assertion the principal justification for the claim to 27% of the pie is that they make up 54% of the population.

Respected His Majesty The Future President Of India Mr.Arjun Singh,
Sir, your idea of Reservation in central universities & elite institutes like IITs, IIMs & AIIMS are very absurd in there basics itself. There are some serious questions & reservations regarding your reservation-policy, which need to be answered before any implementation of such things take place.
1. Already there are more than 100000 seats in Govt. & Regional engg. Colleges, where 50 % reservation is in effect. Do you know what is the Faculty-Student ratio in such colleges, more than 1:200. There is no adequate lab. facility, library etc.
a. So quality of education provided in these colleges where 50 % quota is in effect is poorest.
b. IITs have just less than 2% of seats what these GECs/RECs already have. They are elite institutes because they have best Faculty and resources in world.
c. Cant you find any Constitutional Section to provide Quality education in these institutes which will help to so called quota students also. That also in large number. Rather than concentrating on few seats of elite institutes this will benefit more!
2. Reservation was supposed to be of limited period only, however it seems till the caste based politics and Divide & Rule theory is on existent, reservation will go on indefinitely, is it not your Constitutional duty to see that there is a proper time frame plan for reservation after which merit will only be the criteria.
3. There are so many poor people in General category, who live in remote villages of India (like in your own area of SIDHI & REWA), who don’t have access to good education and modern facilities. Are they not socially backward, don’t they deserve social justice. Or are you not HRD minister for there cause. Who will reserve seat for them?
4. Do you believe raping the sister of rapist is justice!, so since unjust was done to section of society in past, now other section should pay for it. ( Since in history some section of people were not allowed in temples, which now has changed any one can worship in temples. They think now general category students should be denied of modern temples which are educational institutes.)
5. By giving some thing free you can’t make any body empowered, you will create unhealthy weak people who will destroy the very foundation of this nation. Provide people who are weak socially, poor and live in remote area, with best of all facilities e.g. Scholarships, training, coaching everything free, but let them compete after that, make them strong by developing there skills, capabilities. don’t make them crawling caterpillars who are good for nothing by not allowing them to face competitions.
6. Above all is who needs reservation:
a. Do children of Ministers or PM or Presidents need reservation. Not a single Rahul Gandhi flies MIG-21, not a single Rahul Singh guards the Siachin Glacier, Not a single child of MP’s prepare for IITs, IIM’s or AIIMS’s. They study in foreign universities (from where they get money for that, out of there humble job?) . They have foreign G/F, B/F, cars etc. And when it comes to job they come out of there foreign stints to become future Ministers, CMs & PMs of INDIA . Why not Rahul Gandhi appears for IITs? Why not Rahul singh serves in ARMY & wins PARAMVEER chakra? Why they are only prospective RULERS of INDIA . (Ya they are modern rulers of INDIA , why? answer can be find in the eyes of common man.)
b. Most of the people who burn midnight oil to become IITians, Doctors are from middle class background, check if you don’t believe. They are deprived of facilities as much as any one else in present INDIA . They don’t get what your children’s get, they toil hard to become doctors/engineers to serve the country. Not like your children who are born Ministers & Prime Ministers.
7. Why don’t we reserve 50 % of parliamentary seats? Why not HRD minister an OBI? Why not 50 % of cabinet reserved for SC/Sets? Why social justice in education system only, extend it to government, that will be more effective! (Alas! if you can………..J)
No doubt time will come when, these potilician will ask that 50% of all the code written in software industry should be written by quota people. Potilics of divide & rule will find its new worshiper in some new Arjun Singh, who for his/her pseudo, selfish aims will find new tools of discriminations. Although we live in so called democracy, however actually we are still ruled by such people & parties. We don’t have true democracy, we don’t have true equality based society. We are ruled by powerhouses who in the name of democracy, in the name of vote bank divide common people. Today Arjun Singh, tomorrow his son will come up with other policy of so called social justice. Even people like Man Mohan Singh will become slave in their hands, because they don’t have political base.
If any of future Sonia Gandhi will be in trouble of Office of Profit, she will not be sacked like Jaya Bacchan instead Constitution of India will be accommodated to suit there requirements (Greatest Social Justice!). They twist law, They change Constitution for there benefit to rule INDIA . They don’t have Constitutional obligation to find culprits of Bofors, instead crores of money is spent in cover up operation and no guilty punished (Social Justice to save people with Bharat Ratna.). If daughters of CM’s are kidnapped they release dreaded terrorists, and endanger common people’s security.
Potilicians they are supposed to be representatives of common man, to do the justice to all. “Mukihya Mukh so chaiye…..” is to be followed but, but they are not like that, they are Kings & Queens of Modern Psuedo Republic of INDIA . They eat public money, they torture common people, they incite communal violence for there interest, they go unpunished for Chit-fund, Chara & other scams, they simply DIVIDE & RULE!
If for god sake you have any humanity left, if you are not totally become politicians, answer these questions, Then do what you want. We don’t need politicians in Democracy, we need honest Peoples Representatives. We don’t need leader like you, we need public servant like Shubash, Bhagat, Gandhi.
Wake before its too late and all is gone.
Send your children’s to borders and shed blood for country, let them fly MIG-21’s, let them prepare for IITs, AIIMS, let them not to enjoy VIP quota,
Let them study in govt. School and colleges, let them drink water from public tap in place of COLA and Mineral water, that will be social justice.


I dare you cant answer these things, saying common sense and practical issue’s. Then we don’t have democracy at all.
