Is the quota system for higher studies justified?
C if govt... is so caring what i think is dat they should not give them admission on the basis of caste... But what they can do is they can provide them scholarships, financial assistance if they are capable of getting admission on the merit basis... There is reservation system put coz they cannot afford EDUCATION (classes and all).. So provide them Money give them scholarship y ru cutting the opportunity of the deserving candidate... Y...Y >>>>Y.....?

quota system is not at all justified for higher studies
but in a country like india where caste and politics r interrelated
and it is a sensitive issue soo

yes..... quotas has to be removed based on SC/DT/OBC...stuff.It is required for handicapped people. if earlier people falling in these area were tortured doesn't mean that now the open category has to be tortured. Now a days we don't ask our friends or acquaintance whether they fall into any such category n consider people untouchable!!! So y consider it for higher education? Does higher education means lower moral values in india?

Ever since Mr. Arjun Singh announced the new quota policy for OBC’s in India, he touched the hive of honeybees and once touched, the bees spared no one and stung everyone equally and now the political parties are at loggerheads which way to go.
General category students are stung by the fact that they have to face the increasing competition for a handful of seats available in country’s premiere institutes.
OBC students are stung, because they now have a certain right, which was not at all available to them despite “social injustice conferred on them by the other higher classes”
Universities are stung because there is virtually no scope of accommodating the increased number of students at such a short notice.
Government is stung, as how it’s HRD minister took such a drastic step which it can neither support nor deny.
The arjun singh himself faces the wrath of entire nation, which is divided among two categories, supporters and non-supporters of Quotas. Supporters hate him for not being able to implement the quotas yet & non-sponsors hate him for bringing the quotas.
And I, the common man is stung by yet another addition to the plethora of problems in my life.
For God’s sake gimme a break. Just because some who is who of politics made a decision based on the Apex’s court ruling that quotas cannot be provided to more than 50% of population, or should we be concerned with the fact that government is indeed trying to make 2 wrongs a right. Should we be aggravated by the fact that Dr. B.R.Ambedkar advocated the quotas for 10 years only and it is indeed the failure of our successive governments which has led to the current situation of 49.5% quotas being provided, or should we take some more time to understand that this is nothing but sheer vote-bank politics?
One must have noticed the spider and it’s web, a spider waits for its prey in it’s web and when the insect actually gets caught between the thin web, the spider kills it very slowly by spinning a web around. Now imagine what would happen if somehow spider gains an ability to actually hunt insects outside its web. Isn’t it danger bell sounding for insects? This is how we are being affected by the Quotas.
It is often argued that so called backward classes (by backward classes I mean all SC’s, ST’s and OBC’s) needs protection, especially after they have suffered so much injustice in the past. To set the wrongdoings of past, shall we initiate another wrongdoing so as to try to make 2 wrongs a right?
Hasn’t the web of politics spread throughout our lives, does it make sense to push someone to an extent that it becomes unbearable. I am not against anybody; however what I feel is that we have been trying to solve this problem from last 60 years on the same principle, that is QUOTAS
If there isn’t any solution yet, doesn’t that leads us to the conclusion that we took a wrong path. Had this approach been correct we shoul have solved this problem till now. So it requires that all classes of society comes together otherwise we will continue to see the relegation of all backward communities into SC’s and ST’s. and one day majority of population will be in the Quotas category.

I don't give ne support to quota system coz do tell me who so evr r gettin an admissions in ne institution on quota basis r they successful in their life??? some of thm cud b bt they shud think tht if quota system won't had been their thn they wud had managed to survive???? & do belive i me whn evr people wid quota do get nice marks they apply from open sits & whn they do get low marks they use quota!!!!!!! Ye baat kuch hazam nahi hui

its ok to have loacation wise quota. @day we dont judge a person based on his or her caste or creed so the same shud b followed during admssn procedure. The ppl wit reservation r leading d same life as others. Jsut coz their earlier ancestors suffered doesnt mean we shud make this generatn open category suffer. Y cant we maintain a balance. Soon in future we may want to have special reservations 4 open category as they r sufferng 2day. Reservation shud b maintained were its necessary. even i fall under OBC but i dont use it as i dont think i m leading a life with lesser benefits frm other. Its time 4 equality.

at least at thwe higher skills, there should be no discrimation for the entrance, every body should get an equal chance to showcase their skills, and the quote is just for those, who want to do some thing big, but don't have the caliber to achieve it on their own,

QUOTA SYSTEM PROPERLY IMPLEMENTED IS JUST FINE.BUT THEN IT HAS TO BE DONE PROPERLY.WHICH YOU CANNOT THINK ATLEAST IN INDIA WHERE CORRUPTION IS THE ORDER OF THE DAY.MANY SC ST OBC PEOPLE HAVE NO ACCESS TO QUALITY COACHING CENTRES LIKE THE GENERAL MIDDLE CLASS.AND THE LIMIT FOR CREAMY LAYER IS JUSTIFIABLE
