IS Facebook popular because of games?

Most offices in India are blocking facebook.
And its not because of social networking but it was because of the games..
 
Facebook primarily offers basic social networking services so that users can stay in touch with their friends by way of personal messages, wall messages and several other arbit modes. I feel the games are just a source of major revenue for FB, and it also offers entertainment to users to a certain extent. But, to an avid gamer.. these games wont interest them for long and ultimately, they will turn back to the services facebook actually offers. The games definitely make facebook an attractive package, very hard to stay away from because man's need to be social.. and also have fun at the same time fuels this service.

But games are the main highlight and thats the main reason the user's use it.
Many people prefer to stick to one site and hence use it for social networking 2
 
I guess facebook provides us with various games whereas in orkut and other sites the games are not that good.The farnville have attracted lot of new users to facebook.Its not only popular among the teenagers but also in offices facebook is mostly visited due to games.The console of the game is gud wic attracts lot of people.Acc. to a recent article published in a news paper bcoz of games provided on the social sites an employee spends on an avg. 3hrs of their workin schedule using these sites as an entertainment during workin hrs.
 
yes its because of the games. i do not understand why people like all these crazy games. they just kill your time
 
no.. i guess its popular because u get to socialize... the best thing abt facebook is the minute u log in.... the first page itslf updates u with the activity of urs frenz.....u knw dey thr....n ya its nice 2 make ur presence feel widout actually doin it
 
The updates are provided in other social networking sites too.
But maximum user's on facebook are there because of games!!

In countries like U.A.E facebook can also be used as social networking sites coz ORKUT is banned!!
 
Yes!i do feel that facebook is popular because of games. people who uses orkut more , generally plays games on facebook.
 
Facebook is used for other purpose too.
But the reason it's doing so well is because of the games.

It's not just children but even adult's who are addicted to the games available in facebook.
