Are Women Managers paid less?

According to some of the statistics that i have read which says the following has shocked me a bit...

"Female managers now earn 81 cents for every dollar earned by male managers according to a new US Government study.

Although that was the headline-grabbing part, the report also addressed two other, equally significant, topics."

In the second topic, the study also reported that women now comprise 40 percent of the managers across all industries surveyed despite making up 49 percent of the workforce.

Is the situation this different, in-spite of accepting equality among men and women then why there lies such indifference as regards payment...??? Is a big question

Female managers along with average lower pay, they are of lower age as well..

The bottom line is discrimination in pay by gender. Apart from this, There is wage gap between man and woman depending upon the factors such as responsibility, years of experience or discriminatory practices.

Survey said that women earn 60% as compared to men earning 85%. The basic reason was as men are the families' primary breadwinners, they should be paid more..

The key is marriage and social structures. Male managers who have a wife to take care of the house can devote more energy to their jobs. This is the currently accepted social standard. The unmarried female managers do not have this luxury, so they have less energy to devote to work. Times are changing, though, and hopefully a house-husband will be more acceptable in society. However, other studies show that house-husbands do not provide the same luxuries to women as house-wives provide to men.

The study made adjustments for the age, marital status, child status, FTE, and education. Even after these adjustments, women still earned less! Female managers need to learn to negotiate. If they are the main breadwinners, they need to say so and negotiate a higher salary
