Nano : The People's Car - Bane or boon

Dear MBA aspirants,
Here are the following points I grasped from the Group discussion.

1) Always take care of the language you speak. It should be flawless.. correct language, with proper grammar. In the transcript, I found many people used incorrect syntax. Please remember that it is utmost important and your selection will be highly judged on this.

the discussion was fairly ok. Please remember that you do not get a lot of time to discuss in an actual GD.. So always keep your points, COMPLETE, CONCISE AND CORRECT.

The areas that need to be discussed should have been:

Boon - Nano , a unique invention, cost effective, affordable by the lower middle class. Gives edge on a competitive level and forces other manufacturers to bring down costs

Bane - Pollution, Traffic jams, increased road accidents, rise in petrol/diesel consumption, parking problems, etc.

Try to give some examples with statistics like how the number of road accidents have increased or the pollution have risen. Giving statistics helps u in impressing the moderator by showing that you've a thorough knowledge of the topic.

GD conducted on 11th March : Is Google killing the creativity in students.

The GD was quite good and all the participants did fairly well. What needed to be stressed here is how the advent of Google in our lives has changed many things.

While Google has become a part of parcel of our lives like roti, kapda and makan, people depend on it extensively to do their work, students to do their home work, collegians to do their students, techies to find code to their programs, etc. it has also caused everyone to be lazy.

People try to achieve fastest results by just getting information from the internet, often not checking its source. Even though its quite convenient to merely feed the keyword in the google toolbar and get results within a few seconds, the art has made students lazy by trying make google do their home work. Eg. if someone else has made a report on a particular topic, all you need to do is to feed a few keywords and put the right search criteria and voila ! you have your report created and even indented. This makes the students just do copy paste, without referencing to some books and writing the matter themselves.

jaiesh has given a good example in this regard. Also as suggested by the participants, increased usuage of computer for hours causes ill-health.

So do we conclude that Google is necessary evil ? i guess so... since due to google information is now on our finger tips. yet if the students do not understand the importance of creating original content, i do not think google can be given all the blame.

i suggest everyone to keep a check on their english usuage. A bad english is equivalent to losing marks.
