For more than 50 years XLRI is conducting Admission Test on All India level to select the most appropriate students for management education.There are 42 other Management Institutes who are selecting students from XAT 2006
The XAT is conducted for admission to Post-Graduate degree programmes in Management at XLRI, XIM, XISS, LIBA etc. The XLRI is ranked amongst the top 5 B-Schools in India and XIM Bhubaneshwar is ranked among the top 20 management institutes in India.
The Xavier Labour Relations Institute (XLRI), Jamshedpur conducts the Xavier Admission Test (XAT). The advertisement for form appears in late August. The entrance exam is usually held on the first Sunday of January and the Interviews are in the month of March.
The XAT is a two-hour duration paper, with number of questions being 200. The paper divided into 3 sections with sectional timings being enforced.
The method of scoring is:
Right Answer: 1 mark & Incorrect Answer: -1/3 mark.

Registration for XAT

XAT 2007 For more than 50 years XLRI is conducting Admission Test on All India level to select the most appropriate students for management education. Our long experience and the expertise has helped us to extend this test to other Management Institutes. There are 35 other Management Institutes who are selecting students from XAT 2007. Please refer to XAT Associate Institutes. Applicants desirous of joining XLRI or any of the other institutions have to appear for XAT 2007.
XAT 2007 will be conducted in 31 cities on January 07, 2007; Test Timings: 10:00 am to 12:30 pm

Here they have to fill in the XAT form on-line with personal details, XAT Bulletin No., date and SBI branch name and submit the form online. 3. Candidate are required to download and take print out of XAT Payment Advice cum Photo Form (XAT PP Form)
4. The candidate has to paste their recent photograph and give full signature at the space indicated on the XAT PP Form. The candidate has to enclose the third copy of the bank/XAT pay-in-slip along with the duly completed XAT PP Form and use the special envelope provided in the XAT Bulletin and send it by registered post / speed post / courier preferably within a week, after obtaining the XAT Bulletin. The last date for receiving the XAT PP Form at XAT Office, XLRI Jamshedpur is December 05, 2006.
5. The candidate has to keep a copy of the printout of XAT ID and password for any modification to personal details, taking a print out of XAT 2007 Admit Card and for any correspondence with the XAT Office.
6. The candidate has to go online to www.xlri.edu anytime during December 20, 2006 and January 5, 2007 and take a print out of the XAT 2007 Admit Card where the Address of the Test Centre will be mentioned.

4. The candidate has to paste their recent photograph and give full signature at the space indicated on the XAT PP Form. Please mention your XAT ID and your name on the reverse of the DD. The candidate has to enclose the demand draft along with the XAT PP Form and send it by registered post/speed post/courier so as to reach XAT Office, XLRI Jamshedpur on or before December 05, 2006.

1. When are XAT 2007 results out?
Results will be available on the website from 31st January 2007.
2. When does the Registration for XAT 2007 Start?

3. What is the last date for submitting XAT 2007 Application form?
Last date is 3rd December 2006
4. What is the eligibility criteria for taking XAT 2007?
A bachelors degree under 10+2+3 system recognized by a university or a deemed university is our eligibility criteria.
5. I have less than 50% in graduation, am I eligible to apply for XAT?
Yes, you are eligible to apply for XAT 2007.
6. I am in the final year of my graduation, am I eligible to take XAT for applying to XLRI or other 35 XLRI associated Management Institutes?
Yes, you are eligible for admission to XLRI. You need to complete your final year examination by June 5, 2007. Other XAT Members Institutes may have a different date regarding the completion of the final examination.
7. By Buying and filling in the XAT form, am I eligible for XLRI and other Institutes?
The XAT is a common test for admission into academic programmes of XLRI and 35other Institutes (refer XAT member Institutes in the home page). However if you are interested in XLRI or other XAT member Institutes, you need to obtain their prospectus and register for the concerned Institute.
8. How many Centre are there for the Test?
There are 31 cities in which XAT exam shall be conducted. In Metros and large cities there will be multiple Test Centre.
9. Can I change my Test City / Mailing Address details after applying the online in filling of the form?
Yes, you can make any modifications on or before November 30, 2006.
10. When shall I receive the XAT 2007 Admit Card?
You can download your admit card from our website www.xlri.edu any time during December 25, 2006 – January 5, 2007. XAT office will not be sending admit cards to any candidates.
11. When do I get to know the Centre address for XAT 2007?
You can visit our website xlri.edu any time during December 23, 2006 – January 5, 2007 to know about the Centre.
12. What time do I report to the test Centre?
You are expected to reach the Test Centre before 9 am on the day of the test. This will help you to locate your seat and give you sometime to reflect.
13. What is the duration of the test?
The test will be of 2 ½ hours i.e. from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm.
14. What is the kind of Test and what are the different components?
The test is of multiple choice type which will be of 2 hours duration followed by an essay test which is of 20 minutes duration.
