Will we ever get a pothole free MUMBAI

This is the situation we "The Mumbaikars" get into every monsoon. Every year the situation is the same. Every year promises are made by the BMC that there will a pothole free journey but all in vain.

The situation gets worsened year by year. Forget lanes, even the flyovers are studded with potholes. In fact, most of the people who use public transport say they are getting a back problem because of the potholes.

Several deadlines to fill the potholes have passed by but the situation is still the same. Now the BMC is relying its hope on stronger pave blocks to cover up Mumbai's potholed roads. But with the half-done or shoddy work it wouldn’t be long before the patchwork would give way.

So what's the solution or I should the alternative.

The only alternative as I say would be to avoid roads with potholes.:bump:

So guys just pour in your views and solutions to this never ending problem.

well if u avid all d roads wid potholes den i guess ul hav to strt travellling by air in mumbai.... coz u cnt get frm on place to another without coming accross a pothole

Thats absolutely right dear....but then whats the solution to this. Travelling by air is no solution.:bump:

hey no more bmc duty on the pot hole thing in mumbai....enough is enough
because they use poor quality material to do this job, That is why the trouble has no solution. To end this up or to make this trouble less,work should be given to the private companies like L&T, Godrej etc i know this will cost money but the money may spend once in four years instead of spending money every year on the BMC

no i dont think so coz dese BMC people r not doin dere work properly....
accodin to newspapers BMC has completed only 25% of der work till now....and it also says dat BMC will take a year more to finish dere work.....
so v hv to live our life like dis only....njoyyyyyyyy....

but not until the BMC and MMRDA stop creating issues(fighting) over the responsibility of the roads.........
even though i travel jst 10mins a day the number of potholes is equivalent to the number of seconds in 10mins.........

But BMC and MMRDA never co-ordinate and neither the other authorities.
Once the roads are made, some or the other authority dig up the roads and they never try to completely fill up the gaps done by their work.

So I think setting an altogether a new authority for the development of roads and maitenance where only professionals work professionally can provide us a sigh of relief!!:SugarwareZ-191:

but we have to come out with a solution....as its wrong the part of the government to spend tax payers money like this every year.

If we come out with a solution then the money can be spend on other activities like giving education to poor, better BMC schools n so on......:tea:

Id say its high time some serious work is done 2 make the Govt realise dat Mumbai deserves better roads... every rain cant hv dis sad state of roads & rails! I thnk der is a need 4 da message 2 b put across loud n clear along wid a immediate action! only if everyone cud protest unitedly or mebe hv a petition of some sort der cud b a way out rather than just havin da usual news channels showin da conditions in da rains n ppl sufferin!!

The BMC keeps assuring that all the potholes haven been taken care off. Also in regards to the drainage system we get an assurance, there would be no flooding. However we face the same issue year after year...

The potholes keep inceasing especially during the monsoons. It's not just the matther of BMC getting the job done. It's the responsibility of the Chief minster and deputy chief minister as well. If Narendra Modi can make highways and six lane roads in Surat, Baroda, Ahmedabad, Rajkot and every single city of Gujrat. THEN WHY CAN"T WE???????

This needs to be answered by the state ministry...This should be a topic of debate in the Loksabha at the centre, rather than fighting on other petty issues.
