One swallow does not make a summer. :aj:

Ever seen the "master" take a penalty?? :aj1:

Besides,I'm through with talking to you. Ignorant morons who resort to petty insults when unable to justify their viewpoint, aren't exactly the people I like to talk to.

Brazil get ready, warns Beckham

Reuters

Manchester (England): England captain David Beckham says his men are gunning for a revenge victory over holders Brazil at the World Cup.

A Brazil side, which finished with only 10 men after Ronaldinho's red card, came from a goal down to beat England 2-1 in their quarter-final in Japan four years ago.

Beckham, who plays with the likes of Ronaldo and Roberto Carlos at Real Madrid, believes England are now good enough to return the favour by dumping the favourites out of the finals in Germany.

"Every one of our team would like to come up against the best team in the world and that's Brazil," Beckham said.

"We'd love to come up against them at some point. With the players Brazil have, it's hard to actually believe you can beat them but in this team it's different."

Despite his respect for Brazilian football, Beckham felt England had come close in 2002 at a steamy Shizuoka stadium.

Striker Michael Owen gave them a 1-0 lead, only for Rivaldo to equalise just before the break.

"I've played with five Brazilians for a whole season and believe Brazilian players are technically the best in the world," said the 31-year-old midfielder.

"But in that game, when Michael scored, we actually thought: 'We can do this'. I think when they scored it just knocked that out of us."

"And when we went in at halftime and it was 1-1 you looked around the changing room, everyone was dead - not just from the goal they scored but because the climate was tough for us in that tournament."

A year later, Beckham was in Madrid and playing alongside some of his former opponents, discovering that the respect between the two footballing countries was mutual.

Beckham said there was plenty of changing room banter at Real about the English game and an appreciation of the physical commitment in the Premier League.

"The Brazilians joke and laugh but I don't think they like playing against teams like the English team."

"When I play a strong pass to someone's feet, they always say it's an English pass. They say that but they respect the English game so much."

"We'll sit there before our games watching the English games on telly and they'll be watching the tackles flying in," he said.

"Some players look and think: 'Not sure about that' but the Brazilians love the Premiership. They respect English football a lot."

England open their campaign in Group B next Saturday against Paraguay with a belief they can go all the way, whether or not injured striker Wayne Rooney can play a part.

"This is the best squad we've had and the best chance we've had since I've been in the team," Beckham said.

"That's almost 10 years now. It's most confident team I've ever played in, going into a competition like this."

Asked if lifting the World Cup would make him cry, Beckham said: "Oh, without a doubt."

"It's made many captains cry over many years of football and World Cups, and I'm quite an emotional person."

WAYNE ROONEY APPEARED PASSING THE BALL, DRIBBLING AT GERMANY. THATS A POSITIVE SIDE FOR ENGLAND. AND IF ROONEY RETURNS EVEN FOR THE LATTER STAGES OF THE CUP, HE CAN HAVE A MAJOR IMPACT.

AJ. u wanted one on one point wise analysis.

as of today lets see both the teams.

england struggled in first game.
they improved in second game and were the best in the thiord game.

on the other hand brazil struggled in both games they played so far

england play ecuador in next round.
brazil play ............... in next round.

the biggest blow suffered was owen going back 2 england due to injury.
on the other hand, ronaldo has had his worst world cup form.

adriano and kaka were instrumental. ronaldinho , ze roberto and emerson were okay.

on the other hand, lampard, gerrard, joe cole beckham, ferdinand terry all had gr8 form this world cup.

joe cole has scored the best goal of the tournament so far.

agreed brasil is good . but now questions are raised over team management, and players form.

i m not criticising brasil but just telling that england are better.

england topped their grp and so will brasil.
no doubt.

but in next round brasil will have a tuff match wid either of the grp E teams coz they all have the chance 2 qulaify for round of 16. but czechs or italy may give problems 2 brasil in round 2. neways hoping for brasil 2 be thrashed away only in semis against england.

u can have u say. no need 2 fite. its just my viewpoint like u have one.

well.......im glad gemany won..........but thy really sucked in the match......argentin shld hav won......

england lose to portugal again on penalties.

A sad day for football with the referee not spotting handball in the penalty box against portugal. and red carding rooney for mistakenly kicking into carvalho's groin.

with this i think the referees in this world cup really sucked.
first up, they sent aussies out. and now its england.
what are the referees doing?
they are paid to make the game fair and these guys committ such errors sending the big teams outta the cup.

neways with england out, i now would want a brazil v germany final.

AND GERMANY TRASH BRAZIL 2-0 THIS TIME AS A REVENGE FOR THE 2002 FINAL

whats wrong with this WC,best teams are out of game.

france or portugal........ i think im with Portugal.

Wow.... amazing result in both the quarterfinal matches....
First England lose out on penalties.... and Zidane's France played absolutely fantastic to beat and sent back world champs Brazil..... What a game the French played it was a treat to watch....

I am now rooting for a France v/s Germany final and France lifting the WORLD CUP.... a perfect farewell to their master Zinadine Zidane....

GO FRANCE GO !!!!!!!

now i dunno what's next. brazil face early exit.

okay, this now seems to be italy's or portugal's world cup

Portugal really suck but in every match at this world cup, we have seen red cards where portugal played.

that favors them. i want germany to win this cup but italy have been perfect in this edition. and i think they fancy the worldcup chances.

Blah Blah Blah.........yes, of course it's the referees' fault that the over-hyped Englishmen don't know how to take penalties!! :aj1: :aj1:

Get over whatever you're smoking, dude. See, in a cruel twist of fate (or you might see it as being poetic justice), even Brazil lost. But I'm not being bitter and making excuses like "Referees sucked", "Wrong decisions", "our lucky underpants were missing"; whatever :aj1:

Get over it; there was more hope of George Bush speaking sense for once than England winning this world cup. Which was not much..... :aj:

Well my favourite player, Cristiano Ronaldo, plays for Portugal. So well, yeah, I'll be supporting Portugal now :aj:
