Which is better- Doing MBA as fresher Or with Work Experience

work experience is must be compulsory coz u can get the basic of sunbject and can come across various problems and from mba u can know wat can be the solution

like every coin has two sides both have their own pros and cons...as a freser u are used to studing and its like u just get that big jump directly but u dont relate theory with practical work life...and with work it gives u an edge of experience and practical outlook but its boring to get back to books after working...

Hello All,

I strongly feel that Work Experience must be there b4 doing MBA

The main reason behind it is

Focus.
due to work Experience u know wat u r?, wat u want?, How u will get it?

Moreover the Thniking process of Fresher is usually naive, immature at times.
With work Ex U learn to deal with people, know wat matters and wat doesnt.

Work Ex helps one to Learn Practical Appraoch.

hence I feel after Work Ex doing MBA will be more Value Addition

Thanks,

Anant Shah

doong MBA after wrk experience always adds quality to ur degree...but sum wud say y waste couple of years 4 it...

previous work experience is must for MBA. It will give good exposure about management and help to understand what the management is all about.

without prior experience means MBA without practical knowledge

hi..
my opinion is that it is not necessary to get work experience to do MBA as only the freshers will be able to grasp things quickly than experinced guys.. it will be difficult for guys from industry to grasp concepts

Doing MBA with a real time job experience of 1 or 2 years will be an added advantage at all the times to finish the course successfully.

But those who doesn't have a job experience can also go for MBA. i.e., MBA(Industry Integrated Program), which gives you the real industry exposure to relate with the things which you study in your books n class rooms.

You need to work for 4 days a week and attend classes for the remaining two days of the week, which is a mandate.

doing MBA with having work experience is really worth doing MBA.After having work ex u actually realize ur expperiences while dong the class room exercise.plzzzzzzzz have experience first, then do MBA

i totally agree with you guys MBA is a degree to get promoted to the manangement level from the sub ordinate level. so b4 reaching the management level one must understand whts going on at the grass root level. one must be street smart. hence, as per me a good work experience is important b4 a MBA degree

hey guys,
these are a few point i would like to point out:
1. i think MBA is all about seeing what is already being done from a different perspective.
2. it is always better to sample a thing before buying it. IE. when u work you'll know where u stand on your sand you'll know ur attitude towards work.
3. i think only those persons who think they have the aptitude as well as the attitude for Management enter MBA.
4.any MBA graduate will agree with me that MBA is not about learning new things but learning to implementing things we already know

morever as an MBA student you are always treated as a fresher so to get an opportunity that overwhelms you .you should gte some exp then go for MBA

It all depends on your perception. I am a fresher and I am comfortable. Since I am also working as a Marketing Advisor.

Hi raman..

I completely agree with ur point of view on - work experience.. we can easily relate stuffs once we are in the classroom...

doing MBA with work experience will be an added advantage, as it gives you better understanding about the current market and practical working scenario

Hi friends

I am just about to finish my MBA prog. from ICFAI Hyderabad. Prior to MBA i worked with an organization for 1 year.

In all these days of MBA , i personally felt that MBA would add more value and would prove to be more helpful for those who have previously worked somewhere.A person with a relevant work ex , knows things like :- industry structure, code of conduct, accepted norms, current trends e.t.c , which a fresher lacks.
This trend is prevalent in all the foreign universities and few Indian colleges like ISB Hyderabad have put in practice.

On top of that a person with a work -ex would definitely add value to class room discussion by sharing his experience and would help in generating a positive thought process.Such people would be able to practically relate theories with industrial practices.

I feel that minimum 2 years of work ex should be made mandatory for all the management exams

WHATS UR TAKE ON THAT ???

Hi Prateek i appreciate your rationale in justifying your opinion...let me share with you why i feel that it is better to do MBA as a fresher rather then as an experienced person.

Before anything; I am a fresher doing my MBA from ICBM-SBE, Mehidipatnam

I feel doing MBA as a fresher is better taking into psychological point of view...do u know the reason why companies hog around campuses for recruiting even after having so many unemployed youth(including talent pool)? The reason is simply the market demands innovation, a thinking out of the box mindset, new ideas, new approach all together...and these recruiters know it very well the apart from cost benefits they get in recruiting from campuses they also have people who are not only new to the market but also possess newer way of looking at things and acting on it. Consider a guy who is been selling a bike for instance...this guy though experienced after doing his MBA will mostly impart the same skill and approach in selling anything where as a guy who is new to the market experiments, learns and proceeds further in doing anything....though every experienced guy may not act alike but this is surely applicably to most of them....they tend to that contempt in there heads coz of there experience and may not be open to learning hence infolds himself.....I've got many of my classmates who are very much experienced then me but when we compete they fail because of the new approach that as a fresh i possess....hence i think its not at a greater extent that experience that matter but it the innovating intrinsic worth that does wonders.

When coming to understanding of the concepts well by a experienced person...i think this is true in most of the cases however i want to leave you with just a simple question "how much of what u study and understand, you put into practice? Will the customer wait for you to tell him that you very well know what is Demand & Supply, Laws of Returns, Laws of Diminishing Marginal Utility & Pricing policies?

hence its always the APPLE style that matters

"THINK DIFFERENT":)

hi prateek

i too agree with u that minimum 2 years of work ex should be made mandatory for all the management exams, so that the person get hand on experience
