What should be d solution to fight terrorism?

India is striked by series of terrorist attack and our government is still looking for clues as to how to stop it. What could be the probable measures to crub such activities and catch hold of the ruthless culprits. Where do you ppl think our govtn and police is lacking and how we can make our security more reliable n efficient? Plz pour in ur views
 
First of all there should be centralized agency in India to collect data from all state and central agencies like R&AW, IB. And act according to data collected to take more efficient and appropriate action on time. Second no soft policies should be adopted by govt. against terrorists. For eg- Indian govt. policy on Air India plane hijacking in 1999. Indian Govt should have carried out counter attack on hijacked like many countries have done in past. Instead of Indian Foreign Minister personally going and delivering terrorists to terrorists.

Let me put my view and a long term solution.

We need to constantly reach out to the section of people in this country, who are having the possibility/nature of attempting this terrort stricks and let them grow in mind and financial situation.

Growing in term of their mind is very important even though financial is not required. The logic for my suggestion is ".... I never saw any body, who is well educated... to attempt these type of terrorist sticks"...

So educating the people minds is very important. Remember, Larger institute like ISI, SIMI are able to attack on India by changing the people mind to hate the india.

If those people are well educated then they would not have changed to believe all these organisation preaching.

Remember, India is also need more educated people to its growing economy.

So, I feel educating the people in all over the India is the only solution which works in long term.

would like to say that the masterminds behind these terrorist activities who plan each and every step are highly qualified and professional ppl. So, i dont feel just by merely educating them serves d purpose coz they r already educated. Its something related to their mindset.. n r completely drenched in their feelings...loyal to their community..n think that they r doing d rite thing...and it wud b very diff to change anybody's belief so easily. There has to be a stronger n logical solution
 
one of the possible solution for terrorism is that army should be given full authority to fight terrorism, they should not have restrictions, there should be a rule of the army if we want to end terrorism because now only hope is army...........
 
So far I have realisd that the system is the key..(that includes attitude as well). If you care for your children, as a parent you always keep an eye on them, watch them and eventually safeguard them..
I now live in London, though have spent most of my life in Delhi..This gives my an insight to the way the system works and the possible differences in it.
So the answer according to me is "WATCH" your people.

According to their 'guestimate' the UK has one camera for every 14 people, although it has been acknowledged that the methodology behind this figure is somewhat dubious. The CCTV User Group estimate that there around 1.5 million CCTV cameras in city centres, stations, airports, major retail areas and so forth. This figure does not, however, include the smaller surveillance systems such as those that may be found in local corner shops.

One of the Possible solution I think is the security, police force and RPF (Railway Protection Force) need to be alert and sensitive and in their work, not only those peoples but also a common persons like you and me should also take responsibility to fight against the terrorism.

One thing I would like to say, as I a common young individual I daily travel from Mumbai local trains and BEST buses, where were the police and protection force before taking a blast. for eg.: When the blast took place at Mumbai on the day 11/7 after that day Police woke up and started security check on the Railway Platforms. They would have done these things from beginning onwards.
In short I want to say that at each at every Public place like Railway stns., Schools, Education Institutes, Airports, S.T depots, Malls, Markets etc. to protect such places we must adopt some security devices and guards, so that we can identify the terrorist who are behind the terror.

"Unity is Strength, If we come together and join eachother hand we can fight against terror and could give them a tough fight".
 
encounter is the best way.. never be polite to them.. our laws are very poor..(kanoon ke hath itne lambe nahi hai jitne un mujrimo ke mind hote hai)... ek case chalta rahega 5 saal - 10 saal.. dont do it.. just if they r involved just encounter...

they will also think before doing such activities...

we should take the same action... hath ke badle hath, jan ke badle jan....
 
hey friends.. if u have time then pls see the movie A WEDNESDAY... i liked it very much... this should happen in real life... last dialogue of Nasiruddin was very proper... he abused those people and it was in right manner....

My views on possible solutions to fight terroism:
We need to have stringent laws against terroism. Also state-specific laws should be implemented; provided it is not misused.
Also we need to have a specific force to tackle terroists. The police are not well trained to handle them.
Also there should be heightened security at all public places. Proper check of all people moving to the city should be done. CCTV cameras should also be installed at all such places. Currently we see this happening only after a bomb attack or a rumour of possible attacks.

Finally we as citizens have some responsibility too. We have to be more alert to whats happening around us. Any person of suspicious character should be immediately reported to the police.

You guys have given many solutions and some of them are really good.

Friends you all know the kind of security at our railway stations and there are no means of checking the masses who are travelling through road. Any terrorist who's intention is to show the government that they can do anything at anytime doesn't miss the opportunity. It is the attitude of the government which has lead to this situation.

The work of security agencies is to give time to time information and they might do their work but the police cant always rely and do time to time checkings as informed by the agencies. Also we have constraint of having a mass population and a very corrupted system where you can make everything (license, ration card, etc) fake.

I want to suggest that Government should create fear in the minds of terrorists that they cannot attack our Country so easily. I would like to bring to your notice the kind of security & surveillance system placed in the Delhi Metro. Government can start installing such kind of security systems in railways in a phased manner. They can integrate the systems of Police, Security Agencies & Military to not only stop but also counter-attack the terrorists. Nowadays terrorists are using Bombs which does not need RDX and can be made here itself in our country but it needs some components which can be tracked. You cannot go to root of this terror system because its not a origin of our country but at least you can remove the links and branches of it from our country. This will make difficult for terrorists to just think of attacking our masses.

Last but not the least, the Government should become Pre-active and not Re-active.

1. A Federal Agency
2. A competent anti terror law
3. Remove the vote bank politics
4. bring the minorities in these all the process to remove their suspision what ever they are

navneet can u just elucidate on ur points..like how can removing the vote bank politics help in tracking terrorists? n also abt that minority issue...cud u plz explain dat in detail??:tongue::SugarwareZ-281:
 
well many are agreeing to the point in this community that we are lacking in a spirited back firing... we shud drop our softy n careless image n start acting. Change in d attitude can certainly go a long way.

bomb blast hota hai to woh mostly bhid vali jagah pe hi hota hai.... aur waha pe sab ye layman hi hote hai.... agar inme se koi thodi bhi savdhani barte to kai begunaho ki jaan bach sakti hai...

i salute the delhi police.. they took very good action.. they encountered and also arrested terrorist within few days... gujarat police is also working on that but i dont know on which speed they are working... after two months they have only few informations and clue they could get... they found the house where they were stayed... wht to do with this.. arrest those *******.... i hope and request to gujarat police to do the work in the right direction and also with time limit....

the delhi police took action in few days and they could save many people by stopping the bomb blasting of nehru palace of delhi... AGAIN I SALUTE THOSE BRAVE JAVAN and I SALLUTE Inspector Mohan Chand Sharma who died battling terrorists during an encounter...
