What is wrong with child labor?

I think ther's no problem if the child makes the call of doing labour but it should be seen that the labour is not forced on him and it doesn't affect him physically, mentally or in self development..neither his education should be affected..for eg: there's no issue if a child delivers newspaper in the morning, attends school after that and studies or works in the remaining time dependinng on the feasiibilty and that its not affecting him in any of the ways mentioned above and education he receives should lead him to self development..

yup agreed with BW.....as long as the child is given proper education...n balance diet....ne work acc to his age sud be 5n................

Well Ankit, you are viewing the glass as half-empty,I wud say.Providing education provides complete cure for most of the prblms.Other measures mite be like pain killers.Providing free education means also checking the attendance rate for a particular school and taking proper action if the standards are not met.It doesn't end with that.Think about the noon meal scheme available in TN.This has increased the no.of enrollments in schools.Atleast ppl are sending their children to school so that they can have atleast 1 sq meal/day.This is indirectly making a child to come to school. All good habits are hard to come and hard to go.This good habit of coming to school is hard to come and we need to take steps like noon meal scheme to make it a success.Once the habit is set and it is going to reap benefits, this habit will be hard to go.In intial phases this will take lot of efforts and pains to inculcate this habit.Even some measures like Free electricity for certain duration can be given to homes where children are studying. But India is currently facing severe power shortage. So we need to wait for some yrs for this to happen.Even some concessions can be given in the Ration shops for ppl those who send their children to schools.

hey i completely agree with you. way to go !!!!

hi
well i think that child labour should be stopped because it harms or exploits children in some way (physically, mentally, morally, or by blocking access to education).

i am not in this favor the child should work.govt is doing so many things to abolish it but still until an unless we dont feel our social reposiblty to change the things govt cant do alone. childerns are the futher of the country

Regards

Ekta

i dont agree with u ankith .........they r kids they dont even know wats right nd wats wrong obviously they will like to roam around instead of studying....tats whr people like us should help them in understanding the importance of education once they understand the value of it then they will automatically stop roaming nd tk their education seriously.

hi all .we r living in democraic country. whre constituin banned the child labour. so we have to respect laws and consider humanity

Who gives a job guarantee and if every one is educated who will provide them appropriate jobs. If appropriate jobs are not given it leads to social injustice and angry discontent youth. You cant expect every one to become an entrepreneur. They can do a job and go for a evening class to get a basic education.

child labour is wrong ...as when there is money as an alternative option to studying evryone will move towards it...but on the other side the government schools donot have a very good real eductaion ...even a 5th standard child does't know how to write..rather than deciding of it being good or not ..the government should try to enforce that though one can employ child labour but one has to also take care of their education till they are of 18years..this is more of a permanent solution and this eductaion should take place in a government school but not like the current ones...here neither the teachers are interested in teaching nor the students are interested in learning....

Anything that is wrong with the child labour is that children are not matured enough that they can compare what is there in their own interest

well yah child labour is bad...bt not always as in india there is a lot of poverty and sometimes parents send their kids for work because of problems.Since prices of food grains and all is rising it is very difficult to run a house and so parents send their childern for work.

I think there is nothing wrong in child labour because a child has got some sources of income to live but if that is also curbed the child cannot survive and putting them in government funded org will not help either they go on to become anti social elements or

Thx n cheers!

in India labor cost is too little in comparison with foreign countries. they are making pressure through various agencies to curb child labor as they know that majority of labor force is constituted by child and they are paid too less also. therefore laws are being passed to implement the directions of agencies so that cost become up and their products become completive with Indian one.
