well a vey one sided topic u all may feel but tell me 1 thing this child even if are given free education they donot study they just roamaround and do wat we call mawaligiri so y not get them employed and earn money for them and there family if they have
 
Well Ankit,you are viewing the glass as half-empty,I wud say.Providing education provides complete cure for most of the prblms.Other measures mite be like pain killers.Providing free education means also checking the attendance rate for a particular school and taking proper action if the standards are not met.It doesn't end with that.Think about the noon meal scheme available in TN.This has increased the no.of enrollments in schools.Atleast ppl are sending their children to school so that they can have atleast 1 sq meal/day.This is indirectly making a child to come to school.All good habits are hard to come and hard to go.This good habit of coming to school is hard to come and we need to take steps like noon meal scheme to make it a success.Once the habit is set and it is going to reap benefits,this habit will be hard to go.In intial phases this will take lot of efforts and pains to inculcate this habit.Even some measures like Free electricity for certain duration can be given to homes where children are studying.But India is currently facing severe power shortage.So we need to wait for some yrs for this to happen.Even some concessions can be given in the Ration shops for ppl those who send their children to schools.

Can u say all those studying r doing it with all sincerity. They study to get good marks, good jobs n all. They hav a structured way, n chalked out plan followed by many. Some do well, others manage to.

Child they dont know the way. And coz of their poverty r forced into work when their fortunate counterparts r bust playin videogames and at MCDonalds. So if we cant give them all the worldly comforts atleast a chance to come up in life.

We ourselves know how difficult it is. Think that from Std I u dint have parents to back u, where wud u have been?
 
Anything that is wrong with the child labour is that children are not matured enough that they can compare what is there in their own interest. People try to use them, not reward them for their efforts or for the prosperity of their life.
 
to sum wat i agreee ankit....bt dont u fell at times dat they too have the privelege to study and to know the world more easily.........they need to knw the things going around them....so they need to be educated.............

I think there is nothing wrong in child labour because a child has got some sources of income to live but if that is also curbed the child cannot survive and putting them in government funded org will not help either they go on to become anti social elements or
 
there is nothin in child labor....i agree wid u ankit......but at the same time govt. is takin actions for these children so that their future is not dark....
 
well let me put one point here, because of child labour, people in many places are giving birth to new babies just to get some income in their family by making them work. one more thing here is if the girl child is born they kill her and if boy child is born, they are happy that they have one more earner in the family. this is the main thing that is wrong with child labour....
 
^^ agree with chirag. The indian policy is flawed. Go for dictatorship for few years and cee the difference. When politicians themselves cannot follow the rules, what do you expect from the ruled?

my view is children can be allowed to work part time after school hours that too only in places where their health would not be affected.but education to all must be made compulsory

I read all the posts above and I just wanna ask one thing to you all... whats wrong with you guys??? The only thing wrong with child labour is that its
CHILD LABOUR!!!

Lets talk about Child first: -

I define a Child as someone who between the age of 0 - 16, coz by 16 i think everyone gets a fair idea about the environment around them....

Anyways, Now Whats wrong with a child working... some would say nothing at all... its helping him to get two sq meals...

I say its Fundamentally Immoral, Unethical and above all not Human.... a child does not know what is good or bad for him/her, right or wrong, or for that matter does not even have a thought process....

By just saying that as the system is flawed its better of that a child works and makes a living.... Let me ask you this.. what living will this child and in future this individual make with that kind of work.....

By even suggesting that its not a bad idea that a child works is proof that in the process of human evolution we have only but lost the core values of being human...

The only people who directly or indirectly promote child labour are the one who want to keep cost down and profits up.... thats it they done care if the child is getting two sq meals or anything.. they only know that they got their work done in 5 dollars instead of 10 dollars....

Ever wondered why we are still considered a third world country even though when we think we are not...

Also, by allowing child labour how do you think our nation is going to be run by then when we are all gone... sure there will be people like us educated, qualified and intelligent but on the other hand we will also have uneducated, unqualified and relatively less understanding population too...

Why do you think we have such huge domestic problems like child marriage, girl child killings, communal violence, communal divide, economic divide, etc.... this is all because of lack of knowledge, awareness and education... and the only time in ones life that one can truly acquire knowledge, awareness and education in its true form is when one is a child... once that period is lost the hope of acquiring them is very less coz by then the worldly things like making a living comes into picture... and no one can run away from that... but what is achievable and possible is to ensure that each and every citizen or human is encouraged to acquire knowledge, awareness and education during his/her childhood so that he/she has a very good shot of making a living...

Sure the system is flawed, without focus and direction, and we are to be blamed for it.... and these children pay the price for it.....

Now about Labour: -

The fact that its labour and not employment is the problem with it... it means unhealthy environment, no learning in the job and over everything else underpay...

Also a child is not in a position to decide that is working good or bad, right or wrong for himself/herself so it also is undemocratic besides being Immoral, Unethical and Unhuman ....

In some cases I know that education is not really that important coz there is no food on the table... but its possible to take care of this situation like someone mentioned above free food in schools of TN....

In some cases probably there is no family etc... but its possible to take care of this situation by creating more orphanages and community institutions... now someone will say they dont really work... now thats because the system is flawed... that can also be fixed....

Even I feel that children should be exposed to the actual world but not before 16... after that some special schemes should be introduced where only certain areas of employments should be offered or made available to teenagers only.. like newspaper delivery, pizza delivery, etc which are not labour intensive but also give exposure to youngsters...

I always think that there is always two ways on looking/approaching/solving any problem/issue.... the Right Way and the Other way .... and usually people choose the other way coz its easy, safe, convenient and profitable way....

But people always forget that the Other way always moves forward in a circle, it always comes back to you!!!

I think the topic of discussion is wrong... the thought process is wrong and above all the direction of the discussion is wrong....

We should not be discussing what is right or wrong with child labour.... what we should be discussing is how to eradicate child labour....

I hope i have made some sense here and can make few of you to think more objectively and The Right Way!!! I m sure some of you would have your own thoughts on it which would contradict mine.... And if its the Right Way i m sure you will be able to change my perspective....

i would say that child labour is not good for that child's life...........

u r taking the short lived time out of child's life when they should be getting a good education and having fun.....

moreover, they get paid little to nothing for all d hard work they do and are often sexually or verbally abused. What type of a life is that for a child!

instead...they should get proper education from schools at that age, for working in the future after all education...........
 
child labour cant remove from the root because poor people are motivated by money (short result) not by education or study(long term result)...............
 
may what ankit is trying to say is...if Child labor is allowed children wud stop stealing...since there cud earn their bread...but it can be said that the advantages of no to child labour are more than yes.................
 
Wel i really dnt encourage child labour.as todays children r tomorrows citizens for growth of our country it is compulsary thst they must be educated.it is fine if they work during holidays so that they earn some money for there books r so.........
 
I feel child labour is just unfair. It just against child rights and even Human Rights. Today's children are India's future. we are wasting their talent which could be otherwise used for India's development. this could only be possible thru giving them proper education.
 
Inspite of China having more population than India...its better off than India bcos it has utilised its human resource properly...ie there much lower child labour there....so stopping child labour here wud be a gud step towards are progress.................
