I found Meaning of Mergers:

Mergers involve two businesses or groups coming together on a more-orless equal footing. (Having said that, many ‘mergers’ are pretend mergers – they clearly involve one company and one set of managers taking over another one) (Haspeslagh and Jemison 1991).
 
Mergers are the partners who are involved with you in your business and share equal values and profits in business and they are also called new entrants in the market with you.
 
Merger means the combination of two business. When two companies join their business together and got equal right and equal share authority then it is called the merger of a business. There are actually five kinds of merger for example conglomerate merger, horizontal merger, market extension merger, vertical merger and product extension merger.
