What do you say abt Diaster recovery management in India?

In 2005,Mumbai was literally floating in rain.All the roads,rails and ppl were made standstill by rain.Then Diaster recovery management board didn't make proper arrangement forecasting the rain.All they said was to make sure the next season will be better one.The next year they repeated same words.Even in Orissa now,the response of Diaster recovery management was very poor.PM announced this as a natural calamity.Months before similar thing happened in China.After the earthquakes in China,ppl feared the creation of an artificial lake and moved ppl in the catchment areas to safer place.This saved lives.Jus compare where we are and where we need to be.

Forget Disaster Recovery, just see the pathetic conditions of our Roads, its road amongst potholes even at the most important roads of Mumbai.

The Rail gets disrupted just at the very sight of rains. Few years back they had done quite well, the rail wudnt be disrupted even in huge rains but today I feel we are moving backwards not in 21st but in 20th Century.

ITs very critical in India.Every year we have floods in some part of country but Our system can't develop a effective way to handle this sitiutaion.
