Leadership is a combination of inherited and acquired characteristics
A leader is the one who
Motivates others
Defines vision
Is willing to take challenges
Enjoys accomplishing something noteworthy
Posses’ energy and commitment
Leaders are impatient, but constructively so.
If they perceive a fault they look for a way to fix the problem – not some fanciful solution but a practical approach
Leaders don’t spend a lot of time pondering issues; they make a decision and get on with it.
Willing to take responsibility
Leaders enjoy the respect of their peers. It’s instinctive to follow a leader as it is for some to lead.
By being good listeners they get to understand those whom they lead – their issues and concerns as well as knowing their feelings and encouraging their contributions.
They’re usually seen as bold and daring, but with integrity and responsibility as character traits.
Trustworthiness is an absolute requirement of any leader.
Leaders have a drive to make the most of everything and everybody – a desire to help others become leaders if the potential is there.
For many people, the instinct to take those leadership roles just comes to them.
But, not all leaders are born with this talent. It is hard to teach a person to react in a situation that is not planned well.
You become a leader once you have people willing to follow you.
Leaders are determined by their actions.
In many cases of emergency, leaders are those that take charge long before anyone else reacts.
In that, these individuals will have a cool head about themselves and be able to see the necessary work ahead while others are worrying, panicking or simply in shock.
