"Types of People"... Is it possible to understand people (in general) ???

Is it really possible to understand the various different types of people.
Will you be able to categorise them in some 3 or 4 broad categories (as these are the only categories taught theoriticaly in academics) ???

Anyways, forget about categorising, are we really capable enough to understand this topic "Types of People"...
Sometimes, people stay together for years and years and still are unable to understand and "categorise" each other..
On the contrary, sometimes even a few hours let people decide whether they understand each other or not.

I would love to know your views on this....

In fact, forget about categorising many people. What about the same person changing "categories" ? People in this world change every second. Sometimes, we believe we know the person, but the moment we start relying on this belief, boom.. People change and these so called known people become strangers to us.. Lets not be pessimistic, the change can be for good as well (always its not for the bad, though this case is highly likely). Whatever it may be, but, the question remains, do we really understand people ?

Yes science clearly showed that u can clearly categorized or differentiate people and their activity..People can follow the particular format depending on their nature

But that is what my point of view is. I believe that even a single person has multiple traits. So, it is really not possible to categorise people. You really can not predict how a person can turn out to be. So, science may have proved, but even psychology has not been able to understand human mentality completely then how can science surely predict and categorise.....

Human beings possess a distinct behavior right from their childhood itself it is the society that influences their behaviour and mould them (our behaviour) in the way they want us to be they may be our parents relative they criticize saying such kind of behaviour isn't good and hence we change to make them happy as well as to make ourselves GOOD as per their criteria by the time we make ourselves capable of implementing self thoughts we leave behind the taught behaviour and start exploring the world in our own way and hence again comes the change.............don't forget change is essential ..........no matter what !

again one more thing i would like to add there are types of people acc to me no matter even though we have learned them i believe each individual is different in many aspects you many find some similarities but no 2 individuals are same or similar whatever you say.

if you say that you have been known of a person since years and now he/she has changes suddenly is because of difference in the thoughts developed in minds due to external influence and now his/her mind is no longer under your command or dominance ...............

hope you have got my point i have written quite a lot and may seem confusing but these are feelings you need to understand which cannot be written or explained

God knows how these people came up with the categories of people ...................which seems to be the toughest part of universe

Experiences mold personality. You can categorize personalities on a macro level with "All Indians believe in the concept of savings" but on a micro level, each personality has a dynamic set of changes based on experiences.

You can generalize a mass but not an individual with a brain and a heart !

Every human being has different persona different mental capabilities.
but their nature can be classified to some extent with the help of Edward-De-bemos concept of "Six Thinking Hats"

Really, I agree to that completely that people can not be categorised and each and every individual is unique. There is no point of categorising. So, clearly it is sometimes difficult for us to deal with the kind of people you may not have met earlier. So, may be for the theoritical aspect to be made stronger; one may find books under the heading of psychology on the given topic of types of people. They may give you case studies, knowledge, character traits etc etc. But ultimately the understanding comes only and only with experience........

Human science or Psychology also tell that u can read people through their behavior and activity and they will continue to do so

I am being a HR student, disagree to the fact that people can be categorised in any forms or basis. Every individual is a package of distinct characteristics, emotions and nature.We live in times when global corporations and their reach across the world bring benefits in terms of innovative HR policies as well as challenges in terms of managing the workforce are concerned. The rise of such corporations means that the workforce is composed of diverse races and ethnicities. Further, the issue of gender diversity in terms of more women participating in the workforce has been a trend that has accelerated in the last two decades in India and much earlier in the developed countries.
