Actions = are aligned with How the world occurs to you
That’s why we start with YOU. Then the access to improve the situation is throught
Conversations. Conversations that are aligned with a different Outcome that what was
given before.

2. THE FABRIC OF A COMPANY
A Company’s purpose is to generate returns for the shareholders by ful?lling a need in the
Market Place.
Any Company should have a Game Plan that speci?es:
1. What is the Game that we are playing
2. Where to Play the Game
3. How to Win the Game
4. How to Keep and Grow your assets
1. A Company is Constituted as A Network of Conversations
1. A Company engages with the Market Place by declaring how they are ful?lling
their needs and under what Terms;
2. Then the Market Place responds by saying Yes and the Customer makes a Request;
the Network of Conversations is born;
3. The Company has to Honor and ful?ll that Promise according to the Agreed Terms.
2. Everyone is Accountable for the Network of Conversations
1. The Customer is to expect delivery according to the Terms of the Promise and is
himself responsible for his side of the Conversation;
2. The Company will grow or fail according to the level of ful?llment of the Promise
made to the Customer;
3. The level of ful?llment and customer satisfaction is a product of the Network of
Conversation owned by the Leader of the Company;
4. The Leader keeps everyone accountable of honoring and ful?lling on the Promise
made to the Customer.
3. If you want to change the situation of a Company, Transform the Network of
Conversations
1. If the Company is failing, look where there is a breach of integrity in honoring the
Promise made to the Market Place;
2. Listen to Complaints from Customers and Listen Employees;
TURNAROUND TOOLKIT

3. Look for blaming, faulting and disempowering conversations and seek for what is
missing;
4. Urgently address the problems with Customers to interrupt the breach of Trust and
loosing more business;
5. Engage with Employees to restore Agreement and Support of the Company’s
Promise to the Market Place.
4. The Leader is accountable for transforming the Network of Conversations
1. The Leader of the Company (the Board, the President, the CEO) is the Owner of
the Network of Conversations and as such should be accountable to investigate,
inquire about what is said (and sometimes not said);
2. Not addressing signi?cant breach on the Promise made to Customers will lead the
Company to failure;
3. The Leader should engage in A Conversation with the Market Place and Internally
to transform it and to restore Trust and Accountability;
4. In a Turnaround Situation the Leader will have to carry such Conversations not
only with Customers and Employees but also and as critical with Financial
Partners, Suppliers and Government bodies.

3. THE CONTEXT FOR MANAGEMENT LEADERSHIP
Ownership
1. The Leader and Key Managers are clear that they own what’s happening in the
Company;
2. They declare themselves responsible for the situation;
3. They are not acting like victims of circumstances.
Accountability
1. People are accountable to develop plans;
2. People are accountable to carry on those plans and deliver results as promised.
Integrity
1. People are declaring what they are going to do;
2. They do what they said they would do, on time and the way it is supposed to be
done;
3. When they know that they are not going to do what they said, they communicate
to who ever is impacted by their promise and they deal with the consequences;
4. Be on time.
Manage the Network of Conversations
1. Ultimately everyone is accountable to honor and manage how they are
participating in the Network of Conversations;
2. Everybody should holds himself and others to Honor the Promise made to the
Market Place;
3. The Leader should engage and communicate with all parties involved to restore the
Integrity and to win back the Trust of all stakeholders.

4. ACCOUNTABILITY:
THE FUNDAMENTAL DISTINCTION
Most organizations identify the need for accountability and belabor not having it. This
class is ideal for those looking to increase productivity, execution, and job enjoyment
regardless of challenging constraints. You will develop effective responses to those who
have a context of blame, protection or defense, and learn how to build a culture of
accountability within a team or organization.
Evology’s approach to create a culture in which people actively seek and demonstrate
personal accountability, delivering agreed-upon results, despite obstacles. You will learn
how to clearly de?ne expectations and drive agreement as well as actual execution.
Accountability is the single most powerful, most desired, yet least understood
characteristic of a high performance culture. It’s a personal, non-negotiable choice about
how to live one’s life. It’s a choice that makes all the difference.
The problem is, “holding people accountable” is counterproductive, yet without
accountability, time and energy is spent generating excuses about why something did or
did not happen.
While it’s human nature to blame other people or circumstances for our problems,
individuals and organizations pay a high price for this behavior. Strategies adopted are
half-hearted, safe, passive and diluted. Worse yet, sometimes the result is no action at all.
