The term campus recruitment refers to the system where various companies come to the college CAMPUS to recruit bright – new faces to work for them. Students who are keen to turn professionals as soon as they finish their studies have various opportunities knocking at their doors Campus placement or campus interview is the program conducted within educational institutes or in a common place to provide job to students pursing or in the stage of completing the programme. In this program industries visit the colleges to select qualified students.
At least 160 corporate houses ranging from banks to consumer durables made a beeline to give summer placement to all students of Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Indore, putting to rest that almost doubling the batch size will put the elite B-School in a spot.
IIM Indore has increased its batch size from 240 in last academic year to 450 during the ongoing year. The institute successfully placed all its PGP students of the batch of 2012 in the Summer Placement process. The placement season witnessed participation of 160 recruiters across 22 sectors, with approximately one-third of the companies being first-time recruiters
The companies offering profiles in finance included multinationals like Deutsche Bank, JPMorgan, HSBC, Citibank, Standard Chartered Bank, American Express, Price WaterHouse Coopers and Dunn & Bradstreet. Indian firms like Edelweiss Capital, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, UTI Mutual Fund and Development Credit Bank also recruited in sizable numbers.
FMCG majors like Hindustan Unilever, Procter and Gamble, ITC, Marico, Colgate- Palmolive, Dabur, PepsiCo and Pidilite were among a group of consumer durable firms that offered summer placement to the students.
On-campus placement
This is the placement program organized only for the students within the educational institute. In most cases student in the final year of a program will participate in this placement program
Off campus placement
This job placement program is for students from other institutions. This program will be conducted in a common place (it may be in a college or in some public place) where students from different colleges will take part

New recruits participate in an intensive, two-year program designed to provide opportunities for recent graduates to grow into skilled consultants with sound technical skills and varied project work experience. Participants in this program earn a monthly stipend.
The program is heavily centered towards “learning by doing” and is a combination of:
Classroom instruction
Simulated assignments
Individual mentoring by existing senior consultants
Working on live projects for Syntel’s global customers
Applicants to this program must be a recent graduate with a BE / B-Tech; Masters in Computer Applications; or MSc in Mathematics, Statistics or Physics. A stringent written test must be passed for consideration of entry into the program.
Also, from time to time to meet market demands, Syntel’s program may accept applicants with BSc in Mathematics, Statistics, or Physics and:
Above average academic record – at least 60 percent marks in their degree exam
Keen interest and aptitude for an Information Technology career
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Upon Completion of the Program
Upon successful completion of this training program, individuals will be assigned in Syntel as Programmer Analysts to work at one of its Global Development Centers in India with annual salary and benefits.
Employees are encouraged to pursue part-time studies to enhance their qualifications. Excellent performers can expect accelerated career growth, including generous salary increments and bonuses. Further opportunities may be available for overseas deputation to work onsite at Syntel’s projects in North America, Europe, and Australia.
