Tata Motors on Monday introduced two new vehicles in the commercial passenger segment. The vehicles – ‘Magic’ and ‘Winger’ – would be rolled out in Maharashtra and Gujarat first.
Speaking at the launch ceremony at the Pimpri plant of Tata Motors, P M Telang, Executive Director (Commercial Vehicle Business Unit) claimed that these new vehicles – both of which are diesel run – would create an entirely new segment. “There have been no vehicles in the 11-13 seater segment till now,” he said.
Magic, which has been built on the highly successful Ace truck’s platform, has a seating option of 4-7 passengers and meets BS III emission norms. It is priced at Rs 2.6 lakh (ex-showroom).
While the Winger, which Telang termed as India’s first ‘MaxiVan’, is available in 11 variants across the three categories of Standard, Deluxe and Luxury. The vehicle can seat 9 to 13 passengers and ranges from Rs 4.7 lakh to Rs 6.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
