SWOT analysis is a strategic planning method used to evaluate the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats involved in a project or in a business venture. It involves specifying the objective of the business venture or project and identifying the internal and external factors that are favorable and unfavorable to achieve that objective.

The SWOT analysis is an extremely useful tool for understanding and decision-making for all sorts of situations in business and organizations. SWOT is an acronym for Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats.
The SWOT analysis headings provide a good framework for reviewing strategy, position and direction of a company or business proposition, or any other idea.

SWOT analysis - a necessary element of the research necessary preliminary stage in the preparation of any level of strategic and marketing plans. Data obtained because of situational analysis, are basic elements in the development of strategic goals and objectives of the company.

In my opinion, most importantly during the SWOT analysis as well as other research and strategic planning, it is not the crust of the diploma and the ability to think, the ability to look at your organization standing up challenges and problems "look the part."

It's so convenient universal method that it applies in everyday life. Bad conduct «SWOT self-analysis, in order to understand where to go to career development. Before the interview when hiring a situational analysis will help, evaluate your strength and capabilities to clearly define at what points you will need to emphasize and what to try to leave behind the scenes. It helps to calculate some "tricky questions" of the interviewer and to prepare for the rationale behind their answers. Even many of the everyday problems of development of a simple method to help find the right situation, an adequate solution.:SugarwareZ-167:

The PEST analysis is a useful tool for understanding market growth or decline, and as such the position, potential and direction for a business. A PEST analysis is a business measurement tool. PEST is an acronym for Political, Economic, Social and Technological factors, which are used to assess the market for a business or organizational unit. The PEST analysis headings are a framework for reviewing a situation, and can also, like SWOT analysis, and Porter's Five Forces model, be used to review a strategy or position, direction of a company, a marketing proposition, or idea. Completing a PEST analysis is very simple, and is a good subject for workshop sessions. PEST analysis also works well in brainstorming meetings. Use PEST analysis for business and strategic planning, marketing planning, business and product development and research reports. You can also use PEST analysis exercises for team building games. PEST analysis is similar to SWOT analysis - it's simple, quick, and uses four key perspectives. As PEST factors are essentially external, completing a PEST analysis is helpful prior to completing a SWOT analysis (a SWOT analysis - Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats - is based broadly on half internal and half external factors).

A PEST analysis most commonly measures a market; a SWOT analysis measures a business unit, a proposition or idea.

Generally speaking a SWOT analysis measures a business unit or proposition, whereas a PEST analysis measures the market potential and situation, particularly indicating growth or decline, and thereby market attractiveness, business potential, and suitability of access - market potential and 'fit' in other words. PEST analysis uses four perspectives, which give a logical structure, in this case organized by the PEST format, that helps understanding, presentation, discussion and decision-making.
