Hey there People....
I just wanted to tell you guys that all the pple who are planning to have ur frens in BMS plz listen to this carefully....
ON THE PROSPECTUS JUST CANCEL THE NAME OF BHARTIYA VIDYA BHAVAN'S HAZARIMAL SOMANI COLLEGE OF COMMERCE & MANAGEMENT STDIES, CHOWPATTY

It really sucks.... the management treats BMS students like a piece of s@#$ and trust me the crowd isnt apealing either.... ofcourse the course is good and faculties for a few subjects are good but on the whole i wil not prefer any of the MPites to ask their frens to go to Bhavan's Chowpatty.....
Well thats about my college what about urs?

if anyone wants to bulk the whole first year of bms then join my college ... nobody cares about the students...in my college.......... hehe [Modern College , Vashi] until and unless u have a good relation with the principal like mine....

Well Well seems like ppl are not pretty much acquainted to they coll...

Well mua frm Mithibai Coll.. Would put it as an open option who would like to Join BMS..! The faculty is a mix we have the best the average nd the ok 1n'z... So its just like a mix which ull find in all mngmt schools..:big_grin:
 
:blah::blah::blah:Nice for the freshers , well now getting to my college i.e. Patkar, it use to be nice college till the time we had Mr. Shrotri as our co-ordinator but now it sucks. So if anyone want to feel pain in his neck join my college, LOL!!!!!:second:

i m frm HR College
acc to me its d best coll 4 bms cuz my coll emphasizes more on practical knowledge than theoretical
v have most of d lectures by way of presentations so v learn most of r syllabus thru presentations
even in r exams there r hardly ne direct theory ques, all of them r case studies ,so v have to actually use r brains to pass.v cant mug cuz there is nothin to mug,its all application
v also get amazin topics to work on 4 our presentations
Primetime is an advertising,media n enttertainment event held in r college every yr 4 which d students have to make AV's(audio visuals)
4 eg my AV was Celebrity Endorsements,so i had actually gone n interviewed film n tv celebrities.
its gr8 exp to b in HRBMS ,its studies along wid loads of fun.
i simply love hrbms n m proud to belong to HRBMS

well in case of my college SARAF COLLEGE (malad)..

its really a good college with mixture of good and average faculty...

there is no summer or after degree placements

V really have a very good studies but we r not allowed to have functions seperate other than seminars for BMS...

v r treated in self finanacing students with BMM, BCAF, BCBI...

so v have good strength which is improving a lot...

v have average industrial visits but excellent collections of books..
so my coll is studious coll and ONLY FOR GIRLS...

v have all facilities for good studies but no support for events and all


so any1 really want to change their life...YES V do have functions but with self financing students and BCOM sections...:rip:

so any1 really wants to study well and has to make their future inspite of having restrictions in family can come at saraf..:blah:

I posted ealier that ask ur frens not to join Bhavan's chowpatty... all i can say is Shotri sir is our co-ordinator now... and it seems its gonna better now... I hope akash would agree to me.. rt akash?:D
 
I know Shrotri sir personally. He had sat with the staff of MP on juhu chowpatty on a chattai to dicuss things with us.

He is a really good person, a gentleman and a intellectual and I am sure things will turn up for good in bhavans :)
 
I will totally agree with you krutagnya, he is a gem person if u take him seriously, he will help you in all the way possible, but he is too linient and people do take unnessecary advantage of him, but overall he is a kind hearted guy with good teaching skill and an awesome co-ordinator. And Kartik i agree with you also, he is very down 2 earth guy. Takes students as a friend, plz be in contact with him , he can help MP in improving.....:panda::clap2::loco::music:
 
hi guys...
i am from mulund college of comerce. now unofficially this college is supposed to be among the top 5, but the saddest part is that it doesnt deserve to be there.

the faculty is "OK" crowd is "STRICTLY OK". some crappy industrial visits....guests lecturers whom you really have never heard of...would keep aslikng guest who? technology...wow baby...wwe are still in the age of TRANSPERENCY SHEET and we have to book the LCD one week prior to the presentation. well the college doesnt mind taking money for the t.y studentsfarewell but when students are ready to pay for renting a generator for a seminar they are not allowed!

a college which really doesnt give any kinda exposure to its students.

only if you want to just pass 3 years of your life come in here...but rest assured it will only be through your efforts that you wil go ahead and college will never play a role...the outside world will always be far ahead of you...

hey i dont know much about ur college.but every college has its own advantages and disadvantages.i do not say that ur college good or bad but it is an institution from where u r getting knowledge.Managing colleges is a very difficult task.i personally m from an upcoming college called Usha Pravin College Of Management and i feel that whatever faculty is provided they act professionally.
 
Firstof alll Welcome to MP Harmit.... 2ndly thats xactly wat i meant wen I strated this thread If u in not so good college but faculty is good u can xpect to get knowledge and i guess now we can hope that for bhavan's too... but my xperience on the whole was not that gr8

Ya true, faculty plays the most pivotal role than any other in the institute.. If you have good faculty who are proffesional enought in they approach than i believe that institute can be counted as a good one as you amt to learn a lot more..!!:big_grin:
 
hi guys...

well let me tell you that if you have to live in an age of tranperancy sheets and suddenly if you are exposed to power points and LCD's woohhhooo...thats going to be one helluvvaa thing to manage. just imagine guys....you are from a college where there are no proper LCD's and computers. you pass out from here. you get into a good college with all good facilities. and people around you are very used to it. what are you going to do? if your previous college had these facilities then you would have been able to do something really good from the start...rather than wasting time to learn it.

if you have a good infra you dont have to feel embarresed when the guest lecturers come!technology has today entered so much into business that if you know to use it then half your battle is won!

well i had been to NID Ahmedabad! the campus is WI-FI. people are conneted to each other through out the day. i am not saying get these things in the under graduate level but please help them to not be taken aback when the face such opportunities!

INFRA i feel holds the second most important thing after the faculty.

Attendance is a disadvantage in the sense that you have to attend all lectures and not otherwise :p

Well...i beg to differ....

I think Mithibai is all hype...
Tell me, has it produced any Unv. Toppers???
I had a friend there by the name of Ritesh who said that other lesser known colleges are far better...
Also when it comes to Ind Visits, my friend says that Daman is the preferred location...
So, there u have it...
 
lol.. i dont think that a college is judged only because it had a topper some year... if a genius enters gokhale colg because of some reason and tops.. that does not mean that the rankings of gokhale or the faculty or any environment by any matter is responsible for that..

Newayz, its best not to argue because this isnt the big fight section...

Review your own colg guys :)
