These days when you login to your Facebook or Twitter account all you see is contests & campaigns happening, some for a good cause & the others with fun element added to it to create a buzz for the Brand.

Do you think running contests on Twitter & Facebook is good for your Brand and helps in higher Brand Recall?

Also, do you think the people who play these contests can be converted into a customers? Would love to know your views! :)

We've done this successfully with BMS.co.in and unsuccessfully with BMM.co.in

Unsuccessfully because we did only one contest which generated decent likes on fanpage but then the engagement went for a toss post the contest. Contests need to be on an ongoing basis to generate traction, brand recall and brand association.

I agree with you, campaigns need to be one on a regular basis so that the audience have something to come back to.

Most of the time the people who participate in these campaigns may not be your target audience but the word of mouth generated by them definitely helps the brand in the long run!

Answer 1: It does create a buzz and can get some new leads. Helpful when there is some current topic discussion.

Answer 2: Create value for the customer. Provide content useful for them. Will surely leverage the benefit of gaining the customer satisfaction.
