SMS culture-good or bad?

Actually , it depends on ur own mindset. If u think tht u have learnt the language and just by sending SMS , then it is alright.these Two things are seperate .Writing in SMS style will not deteriorate ur knowledge of the language.
 
its good and bad also
good coz it lets u connect to frnds and colleagues whom u cant talk to very often
bad coz ur english goes for a toss coz we write in short everytime

your views are correct and deserves much significants but it is a fact that in this ATM era the most valuable thing is TIME so to save this now we are commonly using shortcuts while writing some words often it fetches confusion among us when we go through the same later on my point of view it is better if we think about how we can gain some thing by being part of this in the class i used to write lecture notes by using this & it to an extent helps me to cope up with the pace of lecturer similarly i think in corporate level we can use it while preparing a sketch of future plans,writing a report about general body meeting etc but it has to be in fuller version at the time of submission so i am partially agreeing and disagreeing with your views

I strongly believe sms culture is creating degradation in level of writing in people they prefer to use all shortcut and eventually it get reflected in their official work also ,which at times creates a whole lot of confusion .So need to ponder over it
 
ya you are correct but if the main purpose is served then what is the problem. language was made to communicate. and if it bcomes shorter but still serves the purpose the i think ther is no problem but yes standarisation is lost here.
 
Mobile phone users who had accepted SMS advertising as a disturbing nightmare are thinking again. Batelco a telecommunications company headquartered in Bahrain, indirectly put forth that it is the user himself who encourages unwanted advertising messages to their mobile phone by dropping their business cards and leaving their number wherever they have been. They also mentioned in their letter that companies utilizing SMS marketing services have their own database of phone numbers which they accommodate though different channels.
