SHOULD SACHIN TENDULKAR RETIRE ???

Though the decision to retire is a completely personal decision and should be taken by the individual himselh; the mass following and near god status awarded to Sachin Tendulkar require that he retires when he is at his peak i.e. he should leave with grace on his own and not be phased out by BCCI;

yes he should.......................................................................................................................................................................

Should Sachin retire? I think its more than saying just yes or no. Sachin Tendulkar is very different from likes of Brian Lara or Viv Richrds (Please dont compare Inzi with Sachin because he is not in that league)

What Sachin provides to the current Indian team is experience and confidence. No doubt, the current generation of cricket is more capable of taking pressure than the previous one but we can't sideline the fact that all the players of Indian team respect his presence, his decision and take him as their mentor.

His mere presence in the team is enough to make the opposition react in a cautious manner. Its a bitter truth that he is ageing and not performing as he used to do and he is not becoming an active member of the squad consistently.

Every player has a role to perform. Its time to shift his role i.e. from the main attacking line to a defensive (middle order) position. He has a lot to give in this game and he knows that better than any of us. I believe he is the only person in world cricket who can be termed as "Bhism Pita-mah" (The character in Mahabharat who had the power of deathwish)

When he think that its time, then it shall happen. I wont forget that day and i believe no die hard Indian Cricket lover shall too.

Better to leave on your own rather than been shown the door.

This is with all respet to the yeoman service by Sachin for INDIA.

Hi All,

Lets talk facts here....

1) Name any new/young player who can be as dependable and reliable as Sachin

2) Forget about test matches also in one dayers we won the last big series (in Australia) because of him in form.

3) You can point out Gaguly's inconsistency or Dravid losing form but cant question Sachin's incredible role.

He is wise enough to decide when to call quits....

may be m s dhoni or suresh raina .......... might b next sachin tendulkar if they put on their consistency............

and for ur knowledge, sachin was not the only player who gave us win in ODIs in Australia... dhoni (70.00) n gambhir's (55.00) batting average was better than tendulkar in ODIs in australia. So youngsters' performance should not be ignored.......

i also respect tendulkar...but we shud look at future and esp wc 2011....so we want young blood now.... and i think selection committee now shud take strong steps and exclude seniors aftr aus series 1 by 1.... starting with ganguly..... dravid, n..... then tendulkar.......

guys...one thing i hate about us indians is that we tend to hide our loses and show off our success, same is the case with sachin's performance over the years. no doubt he is a great player, but not a great winner. i cant remember any match in recent times where he played as he used to play in times like 1996-1999. and its always best to go at a time when u r on top of ur game. but as i said, one good innings and we forget 10 recent failures.. so....the debate continues. i feel the time has come for seniors to bid adieu to cricket and if we keep on waiting then time will come when seniors wud be sacked in one go. its always gud to give young blood a chance...because rehabitalation is always better than new birth...so i feel that in a phase wise manner, seniors like vvs laxman, dravid and kumble moves out and last to go cud be sachin. say in a period of 2 years down the line..

In my view sachin should be retire from indian cricket today he is not able to give 100% to his game. today after breaking the world record of brian lara he should take retirement in honourable way. we all know that the player like sachin very born in this world but to get such player we should give oppurtunity to new player.iaccept he is a great player but whatever has come in this world has to come to an end , its the rule of nature so we should accept it without being emotional.

one thing for sure sachin is not as good as he was few years back........but still he is good enough to be in the team, same is the case with ganguly........and u can't write them off......sachin has played played & seen enough cricket on & off the field to decide when he should retire........so let him decide for himself.......we should not doubt his integrity...

in a year span yes. I guess cricket has changed drastically over the period of time and in this face of change ,its demands sre changing,no doubt sachin is a great player but the time calls for new genex
