Should private airlines be bailed out??

There should be no bail out for Private Airlines, ofcourse, for AirIndia/IndianAirlines too... Instead, Govt. can reduce the sales tax on ATF & lessen other tax structures to reduce the burden on the Airlines. All airlines should introduce cost-effective measures & innovative methods to cut down the expenditures. Strikes, bail outs, etc. are detrimental to the growth of the nation.

Absolutely not. Competitive markets, the players must figure out their means of survival. There are better ways to utilize the taxpayers money.

Private Airlines should not be bailed out as the concept of free economy would die out giving rise to regulated / controlled economy. Why do we have organizations like WTO then???

After Air-India, other private players have asked the government for a bailout and also an open dialogue and have threatened to go on strike on August 18. Is bailing out these private airlines justified??

no the private airlines should not be bailed out....because of there own mistakes like excess crew and staff, improper cost management and one way the govt. can help them is by providing them hedging instruments on ATF which is there major cost

i have to agree...Airlines & Telecom have been the stars of India's growth story. Bailouts can be in numerous ways...what they're asking for isn't too much.

hi everyone.........Taking into consideration the impacts of the airlines in other industries the goverment should help the private airlines to serve better , at least by reducing the parking fares.

No i do not think that private airlines should be bailed out....but some measures/alternates should be provided to them to come out of these...
