Should Gay and Lesbian relationships be accepted ??

Inter gender relationships taking its toll, the media giving a hype to the topic, bold movies by film makers on this issue has given various facets to this subject and every person will have a different opinion on this one and a different reason for that particular opinion.

What is your take in it ?? Should Gay / Lesbian relationships be accepted ?? Should they be legal ??
 
well.....
i guess same sex relationships are something tht the society will never accept, specially in India. if u see the world, recently we had a gay marraige between Elton John nd the other (donno his name)..... so as far as the west is concerned, i guess ther already exists such relationships we hear nd read in the newspapers everyday bout such incidents happenin in the west.....

but, again as i said, it is far frm being legalised in India. nd rightly so, i dont thnk it shud b legalised because it wil not potray a good picture in the minds of the kids.... ther might be cases in india too, but i strongly oppose same sex relationships being shown in India....
(psst: but u never know, this is India - kuch bhi ho sakta hai)

The real issue in India when it comes to sexuality is the battle between the older guardians and the new generation.
Here there is a lot of apprehension about gays and lesbians in our society.. we still giggle when we see a :gossip: a person behaving quite unnatural. "Baila" we call them that... right

In a largely patriarchal society, these relationships bear the brunt of social ostracisation and the law. In many states, we have seen people taking their lives after facing harassment at home and outside.

See... we still cannot accept these type of relationships and behave normally... most of us... but i believe that, people who want to live their life by going against the ways of nature should do so.. as they want.. because now the society as a whole is opening up especially the urban cities.. i have met people who openly say that their are gay... so what, i say... live ur own life but dont look at me.. i feel rather unsafe hehe :pound:

i think u people remember the movie 'Fire'. it was met with such a lot of criticism etc... but guyz and gals face the truth there are people who are gays and lesbians walking besides you.. eating with you or even chatting with you... hehe 'play safe'

people do not openly announce what they are.... they fear the society.. as we say there are a lot people living their lives inside the closet...

get over this... chill out.. there is, and there will be..
recently there was some dude, Elton John(Thx Milind) a singer i think who married another guy. its there, he was a celebrity and we used to listen to his songs...

who cares..
 
Hmm... Here is what I think ...

There are always two facets of every aspect. And there is always a Good solution and a Not-so-good solution. There is nothing like Wrong per se.

Now, if a person chooses that he is attracted to some person of the same sex, then as karma said, we should live and let live . Without hyper reacting we can just accept the facts and move on..

Else, we can react like Milind, oppose and retaliate because it might affect the young minds who hold the future of the country !!

The question here is not whether people will accept it , the question is, WHETHER THEY SHOULD ??

I would say, yes, they should be accepted. Now dont get me wrong here when I say , if its about kids, they have seen stray dogs having sex on the streets and movies nowadays are more of soft porn of the 60's .

Sex has been a part of grown ups daily life, and in the olden days, sex was considered a prayer.

The olden days temples have carving of erotic positions and our Kama sutra has definately given group sex a new meaning for the west.

So, If all this originated from the east, then y is east so conservative about homo-sexuality !!

If a person finds comfort and gets emotional support from a person of the same sex and is attracted to him/her , well its their choice, their life, their decision to live it their way. They are not going to harm you.

Just the way you enjoy your freedom, let them enjoy theirs !!

was just thnkin guys.....legalising homo-sexuality wil b a very good tool to stop population explosion.....hahahaahaha....

but....no i really oppose it because of the simple fact tht it wil promote more sexuality in the society wich is definitely not wat v want....corrupting the minds of the kids wid such a rrelationship is the last thing we want.......

Ok u mean that by accepting the Gay and Lesbian Relationship will lead to corruption of mind of kids

Then wat u say about these countries, They dont have any Kids in their country because they have acepted the Gay & Lesbian relationship

Milind...as far as the society is concerned... i dnt think so it will promote if accepted... righty said and quoted by Venga.. there are so many countries whr its legalised....it dosnt mean that it will promote sexuality in the society.

In India we give too much importance to sex and are not able to talk freely about it. If a person gets attracted to same gender, it is not his fault. What can he do ?

as long as homosexuality remains suppressed by the society it will have connections with negative aspects of life as aids and crime. It requires support from the govt. & society itself to prevent its vulnerability.

well being gay is not abnormal coz if that is the case then i think millions of Indians must go to 2 "Doctors".& those who ask them to do so must know that it is not a desease.if 2 guys/girls want to have sex with mutual consent then i see no reason why a thid person must have problems with it.

now..Milind...again as u said it will promote the society ...take this example.. i want to ask him one question.can u be converted into a gay for money??.will u start liking a boy coz of money.its prepostrous.
thn how can u say tht it will b encouraged...

as long as i m concerned i don't have any problem with gay and relationships. some people are different and you cannot stop them for being one. so whats the big deal, anyways i think there are more bigger isssues in our country to be discussed rather than this one.

I think our parents and elders would have a totally different opinon.

Our generation seems to be very liberal and humanist on such issues i guess ;)
 
We are all earning money to make ourselves happy, so if somebody attracted twds the same sex and if he is going to be happy with that, let them be. I think there is no wrong in that.

Gay and lesbian relations shouldnt actually matter. A person whether gay or straight can be a friend for not what he is sexually but wat he is as a person. What a person does in his private life is not a concern of somebody else. Let them live the way they want to - if as a persont ehy are good and friendly they are welcome. India will have to accept the truth - the fact is Gays and lesbians exist and there is no way that it can be stopped - it is an act of nature so as with everywhere else Acceptance is the only logical way and we as people should learn to live with it.

Hemosexuals whether males or females are God's creation and it is incorrect for another human being to govern their behaviour as long as there is no crime and the relationship is consensual.

However, safe sexual practices needed to be inculcated amongst them to prevent any growth in the aids and the related diseases.

also laws needs to be framed to ensure that no harrassment is carried out and they can lead a free and undiscriminated life.

This is very essential as cases have been reported of excessive torture by police and fellow citizens. We need to understand and accept their identity and not disregard them as unnatural, for the word 'unnatural' has also been defined by the so-called straight junta and now this definition needs to be revised.
 
Who are we to accept .. its an individuals choice .. if they are ok with it .. why should we be concerned .. its just that the society is in a state of flux at the moment .. things which were hidden are slowly coming out of the closet .. thats why all this intolerance ..

even in the days of the kamasutra .. homosexuality and lesbianism was quite prevalent .. and considered quite normal ... the temples at konark are proofs of this .. there are sculptures even showing bestiality was accepted then

on a lighter note .. pls no offence

if god approved of homos he would have created adam and steve
and if god approved of lesbians
he would have created madam and eve

The freaky thing is, how the things which we can as gruesome or uncultured, was actually practiced in our forefather's cultures... Indians, though, havin the world No. 1 position in terms of population, act insanely when someone talks of topics on sexuality. In fact, some of us would be suprised, if i say that orgies and threesomes were religiously practised in the times of kingship... and the evidence can be obtained from the KS pics and the books pertaining to that times...

Its just that some people, over time, due to their vested interests, have spread fallacy and the others, have been led to believe contradictory statements from what was present in olden times.

I guess, a solution can be to look up to our ancient books, and granths and check out the life of our forefathers... that would open the eyes of many of us. We've got to take out some time, from this fast moving world, and learn to open our eyes....
 
well according to me everyone has a right to live his or her own life as he or she wants to.....well when a guy likes a girl and when a girl likes a guy we dont really oppose to such things czo we think that its natural.....its bound to happen rite? then y cant a guy like a guy and a girl like a girl...well its the same thing as i said.......its bound to happen coz its natural....and wat these gays n lesbain ppl have done dont they have a right to live??

well i really appreciate the kind of self respect BOBBY DARLING had created for himself......he is living life on his own terms n has earn money n fame....jus think wat all problems these ppl have to face.....well very very tough life and mind u they r nt abnormal they r normal ppl jus like us......

well they didnt do anything they were jus born with this kind of sexuality......is it their fault?? well i dont think so......i think that gays n lesbian relationships should definitely be legalised.....
