There was a ban on registration and establishment of new Khadi institutions by the KVIC. With a view to uplifting weaker sections of the society, this ban has been removed and KVIC started registration of the institutions belonging to SC/ST category. Detailed schemes and modalities of operation are in an advanced stage of finalization.
