BIS Specifications for Tooth Paste
Consistency : the tooth paste shall be smooth and free from lumps or particles which are palpable in the mouth as separate or discrete particles.
Homogeneity : The paste shall extrude from collapsible tube at 27 degree + 2 degree C in the form of homogeneous mass with the application of normal force starting from the crimped end of thetube.
Composition : The tooth paste shall not contain sucrose or other readily fermentable carbohydrates.
Stability : The tooth paste shall not segregate, ferment or physically deteriorate during normal conditions of storage and use.
Container : Tooth paste shall be packed in collapsible tubes of materials which shall not corrode, deteriorate or cause contamination of the tooth paste during normal conditions of storage and use.
