ORKUT Vs FACEBOOK

HII FRNS........I LIKE THE ORKUT BCZ I HV BEEN USING THE SAME FOR LAST 1 YEAR AND IT IS GREAT SOCIAL NETWORING SITE......VERY SIMPLE BUT STILL WITH LOTS OF FEATURES...........
 
Yes it is quite right to say that Orkut is having indian touch as compare to facebook.
So its depend on you from which community your friends belong if they are Indian then it is quite user friendly for both.

Orkut is far better than facebook for people like me (Indian), it is very easy to search our childhood friend in orkut, most probably they will be have their A/c in orkut instead of Facebook.
 
Orkut is easy when compared to Facebook. Though Orkut's users might be half that of Facebook. It is so nice.

The sucess of facebook is actually underlined by orkut itself as it tries to adopt several functionalities that is provided by facebook.

I do agree facebook is a bit complicated.. but its just a matter of getting used to it
 
facebook is much better !! The privacy settings are much better and the advertising model is also excellent for small business to promote themselves..
 
Facebook is far better than orkut...!! :)
The main reason is applications and games that facebook offers to its users..
Moreover the privacy and security setting of fb is way ahead..!
 
Hmm when compared to orkut face buk has large no of users and its ranked as the top#1 website in regards to the most trafficked sites and the app "Farm Ville" has one the top most app in the social networking sites
 
facebook is anytime better then orkut .. with a lots of new features .. which now also with orkut .. but ppl hv already migrated ... n its all human nature .. smdays back i read a quote from founder of facebook "Everyone who is addicted to facebook, will never visit it after 10 years."
 
I guess facebook is a lot more convenient on features, simplicity, and connectivity.

orkut seems popular only because of the google brand name.

well, if you observe: orkut was the most popular site at brazil and india alone. the rest of the world were on facebook and previously myspace.

and also, in todays india, most people are switching over to facebook because of the newer games, features, network, and speedier connectivity plus the added option of most mobile devices being facebook enabled.

you also have a few popular sites that allow you to login with fconnect (facebook linked login)

therefore, facebook wins as a better social network website
 
i definitely think that facebook is much better than orkut.it not only provides a means of reconnecting wid many of r old frnz. and teachers but also helps us to access various entertaining and informative applications.
 
Surprised to see orkut becoming prominent frm May 08. Cud it be orkut.com vs orkut.co.in issue? I joined orkut in Mar 06. By May 07, the usage had reached its peak. Since then my friends list have more or less been in the constant range of 610-630. Joined Facebook in May 07 and friend count nearing 350 now.
Is there any data abt what ppl do either site? Orkut took time to introduce friend updates and apps, so ppl who logged onto orkut prior May 07 had gotten used to not doing much on it. Different scenario on facebook, though.
