Ms. Manasi sinare - A professor speaks - Mpite

Interview of Miss Manasi Sinari

Company- Professor at Royal College of Arts, Science Commerce

1. Tell us something about yourself?

I am a person who loves stages that’s why maybe I opted for a profession as a professor who gets a stage and lot of audience. I am total sensitive person with loads of emotions and used to read loads of fairy tales and love stories due to which sometimes in my dreamland where everything has to go fine in the end. Totally a non finance person and does not like to involve in any finance topics. Talking about my educational qualification I have done my BMS and also a diploma from Welingkars now planning to study more.

2. What is management according to you?

Management is the art of getting things done from others was the easiest definition I learned when I was in BMS. But it’s not that easy as Management is all about doing great things happen by keeping all things under control which rarely happens. Every time you mismanage you learn a new lesson. According to me Management is all when you feel you have done everything great and at the last moment something wrong happens you conquer that too that’s called management.

3. What is your philosophy towards work?

Enjoy the work you are doing and get the satisfaction of the accomplished work. “Work is love made visible. And if you cannot work with love buy only with distaste it is better that you should leave your work and sit at the gate of the temple and take aims of those who work with joy.” This is what I believe put your heart and soul into your work and be happy that you accomplished what you wanted.

4. Describe the change in the management situation you have experienced till date?

There was a time when people followed centralized management. You could see the head of the company sitting with files and studying reports and his employees would leave on time. But the I feel the great change in management that I experienced the management has become decentralized which has got a lot of employment, people work harder as their morale is uplifted by the companies and companies are now started respecting employees as they are asset of any company.

5. What motivates you to do your best on the job?

My CEO is one inspiration for me seeing him solve problems by going to the roots. The Democratic environment is followed and that is what motivates me the most. I am allowed to experiment my ideas with guidance from top management. My inner conscience says inside me, “ You are born to get some change in the people.” That’s what I keep doing whenever I can.

"Arrows of hate have been shot to me too; but they never hit me, because somehow they belonged to another world, with which I have no connection whatsoever" – Albert Einstein

6. Tell me about the most fun you have had on the job?

The most fun I have in my job is talking to various kinds of people every day. It makes me understand how people think, their views. I just love talking so that’s what I am doing in my job. I am waiting for the day what would happen if I turn up at my workplace without the phone and my colleagues would say Oh! God today she is without phone that means today she will talk to us.

7. “Earning in 6 digits” is the motive behind doing MBA? Is it justifiable?

According to me it is not justifiable. Today’s MBA just see the six digits but they do not want learning experience. They are in the mindset of saying Earning in big digits is the experience. But they forget that sometime earning little can give you a better experience. Once you collect wisdom you automatically get paid in six digits

8. Do you think the MBA course curriculum is at par with industry expectations?

No because learning comes only through practical experience and no business school or syllabus can match that. For fulfilling industry expectation you have to get down in the industry make mistakes and once you learn the craft then keep praticsing.

9. What suggestions would you like to give to enhance MBA today?

Bring them to reality that they are just getting the degree and once they are out of the institute they do not become rulers of the corporate world. They have to gain knowledge and experience simultaneously. I feel MBA should not be hyped so much that you find every other person who does not want to go into corporate also wants to do MBA so that he/she is respected. “

10. Is the Name of the Institute from where a student does his/her MBA important while entering into corporate world?

Yes, because nowadays everything has hyped so much that from where did you study is also important.

11. What message would you like to give to the students aspiring to work at management level?

Go on the belief that, “My mind is my office and my profession is my lifestyle

12. What are your views on the Entrance Exams for Professionals courses?

Entrance exams are challenging but from student point of view they are pain as many students get good marks but many seats are already hooked by management quota. Entrance exams are a mode to say that every aspirant gets a fair chance but at times due to management quota many times the best students do not get seats.

13. What do Corporate’s expect from MBA professionals?

MBA professionals have an attitude that once they get their degree they would always be demanded in the market and they know everything. The corporate don’t like this attitude as they feel until you do not enter the market no degree can tell you the tactics of doing a business. Degrees help you to understand the concepts but tactics will be understood with experience.

14. What piece of advice would you give to a student aspiring for an MBA?

Don’t do everything for money as after some time you will go to a level where you will see yourself saying money is not important for me. So from the start do what you are passionate about do things that you can relate to and at the end of the day you are satisfied with what you have done. Always leave enough time in your life to do something that makes you happy, satisfied, and even joyous. That has more of an effect on economic well-being than any other single factor.

15. "Managementparadise.com has been helping management students from the past 6 years. So according to you, how is MP and what you like in MP? Any suggestions for us?

I was a member of MP when I was in my second year of my BMS. It helped me throughout my studies and it is still helping me to guide my students in a better way. Now it feels all the more great to see it being the only portal for all management students. I am sure with its Brand Ambassador Campaign it will surely create a revolution
