Motivation is the word I hear every time and everywhere I see people who have seen people lose confidence. Hence people put in efforts to motivate people, motivating someone isn’t an easy job. It requires humor and skills to do the same. The importance of the same is being read many a times.

Motivation is considered to be the driver of success. The increasing competition, misuse of technology, race to achieve and keep up status and above all professional jealousies are the leading factors which throw us out of the path of success. The other path is and has always been the path of brave, committed, dedicated and successful people.

When thought of motivating employees, incentives are the thing that comes to mind; in any condition incentives work as a motivational factor, because employees are incentives driven and like to achieve target.

Every org has reward system in place to motivate their employees. The role of incentives is not to overload the employees with excess work but to realize their accomplishments and make them feel an important part of the business. Incentives allow the employees to take on responsibilities and in turn increase their job satisfaction. However, along with incentives, appreciation, positive feedback and praises are also important to motivate employees.

Timely incentives maintain the enthusiasm in the org although the characteristics of each and every employee are different and hence the incentives may act in different way for everyone. Elements taken into consideration while rewarding are enthusiasm, punctuality, willingness to accomplish a task, ability to innovate and ideate and overall fulfillment of goals.

Creating an environment wherein employees love to work is the priority this will not reduce absenteeism but also change the attitude of the employees towards their work.

Also it should be known that the employees not only work for the sake of incentives, it should also be made sure that they develop their aptitude and passion towards work and not just incentives. The motivational drivers for every employee are different; these drives are Achievement motivation, affiliation motivation and power motivation.

Power motivation is a drive that urges people to influence other people, take control and take charge and change situations. People who are high on power motivation are in born leaders. These people are risk takers and ready to take challenges. Motivation can be intrinsic and extrinsic.

Employees could also get motivated through employee games. Use of motivational quotes can also motivate employees. There are many organizational behavior experts who have written and formulated many theories on motivation. Enormous research is done in this field and a typical organization keeps coming up with new ideas and programs that motivate the employees of that organization.
