Beta tu toh nikla keval jhaag seems like new slogan of consumer for Mother Dairy products. Mother dairy has been scrutinized by UP Food and Drug Administration. After exposing Maggi and tarnishing their brand, food safety and drug administration (FSDA) in Agra has found detergent in milk samples of Mother Dairy. Adulteration has been the core business and another mode of making profits. Aaj kal Doodah mein paani milate hai, lo ab detergent bhi aa gaya ab kapda dholo. This is the scenario seems like our mouth is the new washing machine for Mother Dairy. In this dreadful and polluted environment we drink milk to gain fresh energy even that looks like poison. It looks like next to impossible to live healthy life.

FSDA's designated officer Ramnaresh Yadav, who exposed the adulteration, told TOI, "We have started the process of cancelling the licence for Mother Dairy's Shahpur plant at Bah tehsil for using detergent in milk. Besides, a penalty of Rs 5 lakh will be imposed on the brand's Gajauraha plant for producing substandard quality of milk. An FIR will be registered against them under section 59 (1) of the Food Safety and Standards Act 2006 (selling unsafe food items) with the court of additional chief judicial magistrate."

Speaking with TOI, Yadav said, "Last winter, we had sent two samples of Mother Dairy milk to Meerut food laboratory for inspection of quality standards. They found adulteration as the results showed 50% deficiency of SNF (solid not fat) powder in milk, which is the third component in milk after fat and water."

"Not convinced with the Meerut lab's findings, Mother Dairy sent the samples to the central food laboratory in Kolkata, where further tests showed that one of the samples had detergent in it. The second sample tested positive for extraneous fat," he added. The reports from Kolkata lab reached Agra on Monday evening.

However, Mother Diary denies the charges and have another confounding and camouflage story to elucidate, According to S Nagarajan, managing director, Mother Dairy since the samples were collected from “somewhere in between” the company’s village collection centre and its chilling plant, the milk should not be considered a finished product for consumption. “Safety of our customers is very important for us.” According to him, the UP FDA statement on Tuesday, based on test results of milk that Mother Dairy “did not even had a chance to check and reject” since it was collected before it reached the company’s test facility.

Well, whatever is the explanation but the health of the consumer is in danger and there is a need to scrutinize each and every product carefully. So, that consumer should feel safe while consuming products.
