[ Melco EMT16 at a Glance ]
Faster Embroidery
Melco EMT16 is built on the solid foundation of
proven Melco technology, with advancements
that boost production by 20% over older Melco
machines.
Easy Operation
Melco’s patented Acti-Feed™ system revolutionized the embroidery industry many years
ago by making embroidery machines easier
to learn and use. Melco EMT16 combines that
technology with a simplified user interface, so
machine operation and training is easier than
ever. New machine operators can be trained in
as little as 30 minutes.
Industrial Platform
The machine cart is designed for mobility,
strength and functionality. If mobility is part of
your business plan, Melco EMT16 will deliver.
Sturdy wheels enable you to easily move the
machine from one part of your shop to another.
If you need to embroider on large, bulky items,
the new machine cart was designed with a
large open space under the pantograph so that
the garment is free to move with the machine.
Read on for more details…
Melco Means Production
The Acti-Feed™ thread tension system and modular design of Melco
embroidery machines deliver a one-two punch that conventional
embroidery machines simply cannot compete with. Here are some
other great reasons to choose Melco:
Production times are reduced by as much as 50% with
multi-head EMT16 embroidery systems.
[ Single-Head Startup ]
[ Modular Multi-Head Production ]
One of the most compelling reasons to choose
Melco embroidery systems is the modular capability. Head for head, Melco embroidery machines
are engineered to produce. That productivity
coefficient increases exponentially as you add
more heads, leading to compound increases in
profit margin.
Melco EMT16s operate independently of each
other, on the same network. Imagine running
a large embroidery order on your multi-head
system. Suddenly, there is a thread break on head
number two. With Melco EMT16s, all other heads
will keep running while the thread break is fixed
on head two. In contrast, all heads on a conventional system will stop until the problem is fixed.
Many start-ups purchase only one head at first.
An entrepreneur can learn embroidery for a minimal up-front investment, and add machines as
needed. Here are some other great reasons to
make Melco your first machine:
• Melco machines are easy to learn.
• Multiple training options are available, including on-site training and online webinars.
• Excellent customer service via phone and
email.
• A two year bumper to bumper warranty
comes standard with each machine. Many
individual machine components are covered
with a five year warranty. Extended warranty
programs are available.
• Adding machines in the future is easy.
• Embroidery design software is included with
your machine. Choose one of four software
options to fit your business.
Here’s another scenario. Imagine you’re in the
middle of a high-volume production run, all of
your heads are working to produce a left chest
logo on a polo shirt. Suddenly you get an order
for 10 hats, and it’s a rush job. With EMT16, you can
pull a single head from the production run and set
it up to produce the hat order without stopping
production on the polo shirts. This is all done on
the same system, using the same computer on a
single network.
• Melco EMT16 is designed for commercial,
high-output production.
• The modular, mobile system can be configured as needed for your specific situation.
• ROI is achieved in as little as 11 months, based
on an average of 5 embroidered garments
per day, or about 45 minutes of machine run
time per day.
[ New Feature ]
Embroidery on large, bulky
items is easier than ever with
the open design of the new
machine cart.
A New Stance
Left chest logos are bread and butter business for many companies.
However, unique requests come in from time to time. With Melco’s new open
machine cart, you can handle just about any project that comes your way.
Here are some examples of what you can do:

Small lettering on stretchy moisture

challenge for embroiderers. Melco EMT16
delivers quality embroidery that will
keep your customers coming back.
Looking for a machine that can go big?
Melco EMT16 has a massive sew field that
can handle large jacket backs, hoodies,
and many other large garments.
Embroidery on shirt pockets is a nice touch
that many people love. We offer two pocket
clamps that enable your machine to sew
directly onto a pocket, as pictured below.
[ Acti-Feed™ Thread Tension Technology ]
Embroidery machine thread tension and feed is controlled by Acti-Feed™

quality. This brilliant system enables you to embroider on some fabrics without

[ Smallest Cylindrical Lower Arm ]
Consumer needs and ever-changing fashion trends demand that machines stitch an
increasing variety of products at high speeds.
The Melco cylindrical lower arm, the smallest in the industry, gives you the ability to
embroider the widest range of caps and visors as well as pockets, children’s garments and
golf club covers at speeds that cannot be achieved with other systems.
This is the cap driver, it easily attaches
to the embroidery machine for high
quality embroidery on baseball caps.
Heads-Up Cap Embroidery
In addition to shirts and other commonly embroidered items, Melco
EMT16 is engineered for decorating hats. Keep up with the trends
your customers love.
• When your customers request that 3D look,
Melco embroidery machines will keep you at the
top of the game.
• These days, it’s common to see designs that
cover most of the front panel. Melco EMT16 has
a wide 270° sewing field. Deliver what your
customers will ask for!
• The popular flat-bill style is pictured here, but rest
assured you can embroider a wide variety of
cap styles.
Headed for Production
Melco EMT16 is a modular embroidery system, ready for single or
multi-head configurations.
The Melco EMT16 modular system out-performs
every other multi-head on the market.
Today’s embroidery production demands are
diverse. The Melco EMT16 has multi-tasking abilities and network functionality that enables
businesses to take full advantage of consumer
demand.
Melco EMT16 is versatile, its multi-head configurations can adapt to all production demands.
Head for head, there is no comparison. These
systems produce work orders not possible on
conventional machines. Plus, the independent
systems are not affected by single thread breaks
like conventional machines, which shut down
production of all heads. In addition to the ability
to handle large production jobs, the heads can
operate independently to fulfill small personalization orders and samples.
Add Machines as
Your Business Grows
Melco multi-head systems stitch independently,
so each head can also be configured to handle any job you throw at it. Monogramming,
name dropping, samples, or even preventative
maintenance per head won’t stop the entire
production, unlike using a conventional system.
Plus, it’s all neatly networked by one computer.

The Melco Advantage
We don’t need to tell you why Melco is a great partner for any embroidery
business. Our customers do the talking.
[ Thread Shed Embroidery ]
My first experience with Melco was in 2002, after
a long career in another field. It was suggested
to me by a close relative that I should attend a
seminar on starting your own business. The possibility of changing careers and starting a new
embroidery business was intriguing and frightening at the same time. After attending the
seminar, I felt comfortable enough to purchase
my first Melco machine.
Melco assisted me in setting up the machine
and giving me tips and training, as I began my
venture into the field of embroidery. Their training classes in digitizing logos and the operation
of the machine are instrumental in the proper
operation and job flow procedures. I am not
going to lie; the first few years were rough. As
with any new, high-tech piece of equipment,
the technicians at Melco were helpful when it
came to fine-tuning the machine. The progression of my abilities in my new field improved as
I went through trial and error periods, but the
service technicians were able to walk me
through it.
Twelve years later, I now have 4 machines. I have
learned to use them with a variety of processes
including tackle twill, 3D foam caps, luggage,
and backpacks. I know that if I need suggestions on how to run a specific item, I just make a
phone call to a Melco technician for assistance.
Thank you, Melco, for helping make my business
successful.

Customer Feature: Sportline Team Sports
Sportline Team Sports specializes in sportswear and equipment for
schools, leagues, youth groups and local recreation centers. Based in
Arvada, Colorado, Sportline has been in business for about 35 years.
Fred and Anna Jacobsen own and operate Sportline from a beautiful
retail and production facility. Their location is easy to find and a
convenient place for athletes, parents, coaches and others to shop
and place team orders.
In the beginning, this husband and wife team started by handembroidering people’s names on jackets and shirts. The process of
writing names and then embroidering over them took an incredible
amount of time, dedication and attention to detail. As demand for
their embroidered products increased, the need for a commercial
machine became apparent. Rather than outsourcing embroidery,
they chose to keep it in-house, so they could “maintain the high
quality standards and fast turnaround that our customers had come
to expect”, says Anna.
After some time researching embroidery equipment, they invested
in their first Melco embroidery machine, and have been loyal to the
Melco brand ever since. For Anna and Fred, excellent sew quality and
ease of operation are key features that helped them choose Melco
over other brands.
Over time, embroidery technology advanced and eventually Melco
introduced the AMAYA embroidery machine, forever changing the
industry. The Acti-Feed™ thread system, an exclusive AMAYA feature,
enabled businesses to provide embroidery on a wider variety of
products with higher quality than ever before. As a bonus, ActiFeed™ makes operating an embroidery machine much easier when
compared to conventional systems. For all these reasons and more,
Fred and Anna added several Melco machines to their production
facility, where they are still in operation today. The modularity of Melco
systems enables them to do rush or last-minute jobs without interrupting
other orders already in production.
Melco provides training and service on all equipment they sell.
According to Anna, “Reliable service and training, plus Melco’s
convenient location in Denver, Colorado were other key reasons we
chose Melco. We have developed a great relationship with them,
and appreciate all they have done to help us operate a successful
business.”
They also love the convenience of online shopping for parts, accessories
and other items on ShopMelco.com.
Sportline is an amazing testimony of how a company can grow from a
small shop to a successful business. According to Fred, “Seeing people
and teams wearing the items we produce is a great source of pride for
us. We enjoy seeing kids in schools throughout the community wearing
our uniforms.”
Growing from humble beginnings to a well-known supplier of high
quality embroidered goods for dozens of schools and athletic
organizations all over Colorado is a great achievement. Melco is proud
to be the brand of choice for embroidery equipment and software for
Sportline Team Sports.
