Earlier it was reported that the ‘largest-ever technology merger’ is set to be announced later today - and it’s between Dell and storage technology firm EMC, in a deal said to be worth over $50 billion. But, it goes above and beyond our imaginations, this deal between Dell and EMC could be considered as a Megamerger. On Monday, Dell announced an agreement to purchase EMC, a provider of data storage products for businesses, for $67 billion.

"The combination of Dell and EMC creates an enterprise solutions powerhouse bringing our customers industry leading innovation across their entire technology environment," Dell founder Michael Dell staid in a statement. "Our new company will be exceptionally well-positioned for growth in the most strategic areas of next generation IT including digital transformation, software-defined data center, converged infrastructure, hybrid cloud, mobile and security."

This has been a smart move from Dell and EMC Corporation because it will bring Dell’s experience selling products with EMC's expertise with large enterprises. This mega merger will help Dell to dominate the market in the technological products.
