HEY GUYS....THE DEBATE IS FOR UNDERSTANDING BETTER ....THE REASON Y B-SCHOOLS WANT WORK EXPERIENCE CANDIDATE.WHAT I FEEL IS A EXPERIENCED CANDIDATE PROVES BETTER WHEN COMPARED TO A FRESHER A EXPERIENCED CANDIDATE HAS MORE ABILITIES TO PERFORM IN DIVERSE SITUATIONS.PLS POST UR VIEWS ON IT.

Its not true that B-schools want experienced candidates..its just that candidates with work experience are preferred to candidates who are out with no experience. This is primarily because of the fact that a person who has worked for say, 2 years, must have gained something out of it and learned how to work in a particular situation. B-schools provide us a platform in the corporate sector and words like 'stress', 'experience', 'interpersonal skills', 'creativity' and 'smart work' - all are synonymous with corporate sector. So when you have worked for a span of 2 years with a particular organisation, you get more mature, learn to handle stress, learn to use your creativity - and in all you become more eligible to fit into the corporate sector.

As work experience really helps u in understanding which areas u need to work on while doing MBA, so it helps in more learning as u could relate to the things which u study, rather than the people with work experience have more capabilties than freshers being the reason.

I also wud like to say that -
We all MBA aspirants shud have some work experience in hand before doing MBA abroad... As we will get good exposure to the corporate world while doing job ... and we will learn so many things there that will off course help us in our MBA studies abroad.....

So It is MUST for any student to have a good work expereince in industry before doing MBA abraod....

According to Education Abroad counsellor Karan Gupta, "Without work experience, you should not even think of doing your MBA abroad. All good business schools require that candidates have at least 3 years of full time work experience."

u no what i feel is A diverse MBA class is a perfect learning environment and for this reason, Business Schools prefer students with different cultural, personal, and professional backgrounds. In addition, team work is critical for success in any MBA program. Most MBA programs consist of case discussions and group assignments, which call for working in teams. Hence, B-Schools want candidates who have demonstrated an ability to work well in group setting. More often than not, work experience provides individuals an opportunity to work in teams, and demonstrate team work and people skills.

If you are an Asian student, you provide the necessary cultural diversity. Add to this, your work experience brings the necessary diversity in the collective work experience of the class. This makes you an attractive applicant to Business Schools. But the problem is that there are others like you who are applying - applicants from your own country, many with similar backgrounds and achievements, and they all compete with you.

pls do post ne of ur further comments on it.it would be very help ful.thanks.bye.tc

before joining the b-school there is lots of confusion in the mind of a candidate.but the candidate have work experience there is tension going down.

hey thanks for ur thoughts but dont u think dat its not possible for every candidate to get a job in his or her interest field it might dat ke the candidate has got work experience in some other feild itself where his or her interest does not lies what in dat scenario still work ex. is dat beneficial.???..........pls do post ur comments on it.thanks.

how much does one really learn or understand about the real world in 2 years or work x??? is somthing that one must really think about

Its not exp Candidate has more abilities, or perform in diverse situations, but its more like he is in a better position to see things from the corporate angle, to make a connection betwn Theory n Practical World (having worked earlier) and quickly learn what it meant when somthing happened during his job.

Eg. By learing OB n HR the common subjects in MBA one can understand why Bosses these days giv mor respect to employees, OR how much it means to praise som1 for any small task, th diff that it makes,

why best of Policies failed and many things one is able to better corelate rather than visualise like a fresher.

Again INTL Bschools MBAs start at age of 28-30, after W.Ex, its not like ours where we suppose to think 10+2+3 and MBA Big pay packet.

When you come back to studies after you work for sometime, you will know what practical life is about and be more sincere in your studies

hmm dats a valid point and a good thought but dont u thing den person becomes more over confident and rigid in terms of thinking.............pls do post ur comments on it and thanks neways for responding to this matter....bye.tc

now any tom dick and harrry can't get their desired dreams comet ture untill n unless they can prove them selves, it's strange we're speaking abt experience, i say experience is much more imp then doin MBA, even if one doesn't have MBA but has a good experience he can do well then MBA's......... this is ma practical implication.

yup thats a valid point and a good thought but sometimes i feel when a person does his or her graduation the student is not dat serious in the academics and then misses out imp knowledge content of the syllabus.and as the result struggles to attain a efficient result while working.i feel doin mba would get him the knowledge.........dis was what i feelpls do post ne further comments of urs it would be very helpful.thanks neways.tc

if u like the post pls press thanks.

Experienced candidates are more focussed as compared to freshers and they know what they need to do wherein freshers need to be guided.
