Methodology

Purpose of the survey

To make this all more effective it was important to study team building with respect to employee’s point of view. So I conducted a survey including employees from teams as studying teams, its use, its effectiveness in organization which has no meaning without studying it from employee’s point of view.

It is easy to say theoretically that teams are productive and are happy with the system, but practically it is not that easy as there are different people in a team who are grouped together. They have different thinking; different perceptions to view things and then putting them in one group and asking them to do similar kinds of things etc. conflicts are bound to happen. So it was very important to study this project with the help of teams and team members.

Method of data collection

For the purpose of studying this project, survey research method was used to collect data. The data collected is primary data. This method was preferred over other methods as I found that this method was the most appropriate method, to meet people and know their varied viewpoints. I chose this method considering the fact that the survey was carried out amongst the employees.

Research Design

Survey research method was used because the nature of the research was basically of subjective type and best suited the objective of the survey. The survey form or the questionnaire was printed in English. The employees were well educated and almost of the same caliber and therefore I had no problems in explaining them .

Instruments used

In this case study instrument used was a questionnaire. I preferred a questionnaire as it makes the study simple and easy to understand, neither time consuming. The questionnaire was directly asked to the employees with the help of the H.R. Manager. Mrs. Pervin Ghani.

Sampling plan

The sampling unit consisted of team members of Mahindra and Mahindra which was located at their head office in Worli.

Sample size
The sample size was of 20 workers.
