You can do Masters in Finance as financial sector is the best as of today. You can do in ICFAI, Dalmia Instt at Mira Road, Jamnalal bajaj, NMIMS, Somayya Instt or Indian School of Business, Hyd. The last one is the best one. In BMS you have already studied 50% of MBA subjects and hence it will not be difficult for you

Confused between USA and Australia....

Hello Sir,

I am Bhavya Kerney. I have cleared my BMS this year in August 2009.

I had few doubt about my career path. Before that this is how my educational background looks like.

SSC -- 2004 --- 68.13%-- First Class
HSC -- 2006 --- 53.67%-- Second Class
BMS (Overall %age) --2009 -- 71.18%-- First class.

I have been selected for an MBA program by California Lutheran University, USA (November 2009 Intake) which is ranked 18th in Western USA. I have got my admission confirmation letter (I-20) from the university and have also cleared the VISA Interview.

As i have scored well in my BMS I am getting admission in University of Melbourne, Australia as well which is ranked 37th Worldwide.

I am yet to start the application procedure for University of Melbourne, Feb 2010 Intake.

However, I understand that Australian University is a better option, but I am confused about the Jobs in USA and Australia.

I am looking out for a Permanent Residence (PR). But to survive I would require a JOB. And as I have completed my Graduation I don't have any work Experience after graduation as required. Will this fact affect my CV while looking out for jobs in Austraia or USA.

I am really confused about my admissions in USA or Australia. And moreover, does an MBA degree in today's competitive world hold that glory and competitive edge required by various organisations.

I wanted a guidance regarding which country should I select for my further education.

USA is HIT by recession, but is recovering as per the economy watch website as per 4th Sept 2009.

Australia is having a jolly good time. But jobs related to management and administration are very less as compared to jobs in the fields of accounting, Finance, Medical and Health Services.

Also, what should be the basic job profile that I must expect after my MBA.

Thanks a lot for reading my query.
Thank You for your help and support.

Kind Regards
Bhavya Kerney

Hi bhavya

Congrats. Go to US. Jobs are plenty. If you are specialising in Finance, come back to India for job here. If otherwise stay back over there. You will get odd jobs while you are doing your MBA like librarian, packing of cakes, teaching hindi, english to chinese students or simple arithmetic.

Even Finance too US is recovering, By the time you finish MBA you can look forward to a nice settlement there. Australia, i am relunctant to recommend going by the racial discrimination. Although job opportunities and studies are good.

You may if you wish pursue in ISB, hyderabad, Singapore or in US an MS degree after clearing GRE and TOEFEL online test scoring atleast 1300 out of 1600. This mark plus your marks in college and the reputation of your present college ie Engg and liquidity ie income statement for Visa (pre visa). are all the deciding factors for your admission.

Once you are done with your MBA...depending on your specialization you would be able to get a good job.

Dinesh,

Finance is the sector where too students having your background
would be needed. A financial institution deal with several segments of the economy including, the field of bio-technology. The institution might need an expert when the question of making a feasibility study of a project in the biotechnology comes up for financing purpose. Hence you may suitably answer the interviewer based on these lines.

Manish

CFA no doubt is a vast subject. Here you need to put that extra effort. There is no substitute as the placement which you might get in due course of time would adequately compensate you.
