Logistics is the transporting, storing and handling of goods to match target customers’ needs with a firm’s marketing mix – both within individual firms along a channel of distribution. Physical distribution(PD) is another common name for logistics. PD provides time and place utility and makes possession utility possible. The physical distribution system must meet customers’ needs with an acceptable service level and cost.
Quintessence will use various modes of transportation like road, railways and waterways. For this transportation trucks will be used. Handling of finished goods is also one of the important factors. So the product will first be packed in its normal packing then in air sealed plastic bags and finally into cartoons to ensure quality delivery.
Even if there is any break down in any mode of transportation, Quintessence have planned an alternative in advance so as to deliver product on time at right place so that consumer can have its possession.
