Pursuing an MBA degree is considered more and more as an advantage today.
In the present dynamic Corporate Scenario, a mere mention of 'MBA' on your curriculum Vitea, gives you that much needed edge. Today candidates have realised that MBA degree gives an opportunity that accelerates your career growth.

A two decade ago, a Graduates degree was an achievement in itself. Whatever the current job-market is far more demanding and possessing an MBA degree is possibly becoming a REQUIREMENT. And that's not all about it..... if an aspirant desires to achieve an extra edge over other, then one degree ain't enough.

I agree that MBA is glorified to a large extent but thats the buzz word today and also the trend. Its better to move along with the trend rather than being left behind. ANd moreover the institute does'nt matter; but what you grab out of the syllabus and apply practically that is more important.

More importantly if you have noticed there are not many courses that a student can pursue in a commerce stream. ( CA, CS, MBA) Rather a student from a science stream has better carrier choice than a commerce student and thats the only reason why more and more students are going for these PG courses.
 
MBA also helps strengthen ones gray areas & develop a general management attitude, rather than stick to the technical knowledge
